RR103 | Meal Planning that Actually Works

Most people already know what they should eat—so why is it still so hard to follow through? In this episode, Julie and Tony talk about what makes meal planning actually work in real life. Not complicated rules or overwhelming systems, but simple, sustainable steps that help you stay consistent. You’ll learn: • Why the real struggle isn’t knowledge—it’s follow-through • How keeping your plan simple leads to long-term success • The power of structure (like 3 meals a day) to reduce impulsive eating • How to identify trigger foods and avoid the cycle of cravings • Why planning ahead (and having a Plan B) makes all the difference • Practical ways to choose satisfying foods that support your health • How inviting God into your meals brings peace, clarity, and strength This episode is a reminder that you don’t need a perfect plan—you need a plan you’ll actually follow. With biblical encouragement throughout, you’ll be reminded that small, consistent steps—done with God—lead to lasting freedom. “A simple plan you follow beats a perfect plan you don’t.” If you’ve ever felt stuck between knowing what to do and actually doing it, this episode will help you bridge that gap. 🎧 Listen now and start building a plan that works for your life. If you’re thinking, “I know how to eat healthy… I just can’t stay consistent,” this is for you. RR102 | Facing Life's Difficulties Without Turning to Food

Have you ever noticed that when life gets difficult, the temptation to overeat often gets stronger? When we feel overwhelmed, discouraged, lonely, or anxious, food can start to look like a quick solution. But the truth is, overeating doesn’t actually solve those problems. In fact, it often makes them worse — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In this episode, Tony and I talk about how to face life’s difficulties in healthier ways instead of turning to food. We discuss why emotional pain can trigger overeating and why sugar and processed foods often intensify the struggle by increasing inflammation, anxiety, and energy crashes. We also share practical ways to respond during difficult moments, including prayer, talking with a trusted friend or sponsor, reading Scripture, and even something as simple as going for a walk to help clear your mind and lift your mood. Scripture reminds us that even when life is hard, God gives us strength, peace, and hope. Recovery isn’t about perfection — it’s about continuing to trust God and practicing healthier responses one day at a time. We hope this episode encourages you to turn to God and healthy support instead of turning to food in any season in life - especially difficult ones. If you’re thinking, “I know how to eat healthy… I just can’t stay consistent,” this is for you. RR100 | Real Recovery Stories from Overeating: Members Share What Actually Worked (100th Episode)

If you’ve ever wondered whether lasting recovery from overeating is really possible, this episode will show you that it is. I can hardly believe this is our 100th episode. Before we heard from our members in this episode, I shared a little bit about why Reshape and Recover exists. This didn’t start as a business idea. It started because I wanted something I couldn’t find anywhere else. I had found success in Overeaters Anonymous, and I’m so grateful for that. But I longed for a Christ-centered recovery option — one that openly talked about Jesus, prayer, and surrendering our food struggles to God. So in August 2023, I began Reshape and Recover. I didn’t know what would happen. I didn’t know if anyone would join. When our first two members signed up within days of each other, I was thrilled — and honestly relieved. Since then, people have come and go. There were moments I almost quit because I took it personally when someone left. But God has been faithful. And today, we celebrate 100 episodes. In this episode, you’ll hear from Gayle and Jojo as they share: • What made them finally say, “I’m at the end of my rope.” • The fear of giving up sugar, chocolate, and binge foods • How they realized it wasn’t really about food — it was something deeper • Losing 50+ and 75+ pounds • Freedom from guilt, shame, and the constant daily battle • Learning to go to God for comfort instead of food If you’ve ever wondered whether life without your binge foods is even possible, I hope this episode encourages you. You don’t have to do this alone. With God, change is possible. Keep coming back. It works if you work it.
