Native Habitat Restoration for wildlife on a property that was clearcut 5 years ago. I have not been able to find a whole lot of information on this type of work.
The podcast will give detailed step by step work that has been completed and the results that we are seeing from the work. I will share with you my plans, my successes and my failures. I will also share my plans for how to help the wildlife mature and thrive. I will share with you our hunting successes and failures.

Site visit with Mississippi Wildlife Land biologist
On this episode, I talk with John Grouchy and Colby Henderson of Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries. They are land Biologist and we discuss things from our site visit of my property today.
I know that audio isn't the best. I had to move my podcast equipment from my home to my front porch of my camp. The wind was worse than expected and we are all 3 sitting around a table trying to use 2 microphones. -
2023 Food Plot update
In this episode, I update what I am seeing in my food plots after the drought and heat of the 2023 summer and fall. We had no measurable ran for almost 100 days, with highs consistently over 100 degrees during that time. There is very little native browse to eat currently because of the drought conditions, so the food plots are as important as ever.

2023 Food Plot Stratagy
In this episode, I talk about what I did with food plots last year, and the failures of those plots. I then discuss what I have done differently, with location, seed mix and how I prepared the areas. I hope you find this informative. This is absolutely a learning process for me. I am trying to use the little bit of food plot experience that I have, join it with my landscape horticulture experience, and throw in a heavy mix of ideas that I have learned from listening to other podcast (Drop Tine Seed, Land and Legacy, MSU deer lab, etc.).
Levee from Tigerdroppings sent me his food plot prescription for this year a few months back. I would like to hear from others, see pictures, and then maybe do some podcast this winter or next spring about the results and what they would do differently. -

Enjoy and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Early Succession work January 2023
I recap a little of what I learned from hunting season and how it motivated the work that I started doing in January of 2023. I am beyond
pleased with the results that I am seeing since this work was done 7 months ago.

Why do I believe in Native Habitat?
This is a spiritual podcast. I talk about what has led me on this journey, and what I believe leads many of us, even when we don't completely understand it. In this podcast, I testify about the Grace of God on my life and the things he has taught me about dirt. I reference Dirt to Soil by Gabe Brown a few times.
Here is my question for you: Are you allowing the Lord to transition you from Dirt to Soil? the Bible says we are made of dust. Dust is dirt without water. Soil is dirt that is filled with water and LIFE!
