Dr. Marcus Ranney

Dr. Steve Keen

In this episode, Elsa speaks to Dr.Steve Keen, an Honorary Professor at the University College London. Before that, he taught at universities across the United Kingdom and Australia. He is an Australian economist and author and his research is centered around post-Keynesian economics, criticising neoclassical economics. He has over 70 academic publications on topics as diverse as financial instability, the money creation process, flaws in Marxian economics, the application of physics to economics, Islamic finance, and the role of chaos and complexity theory in economics. His work has been translated into Chinese, German and Russian. During the podcast we will dive into impact of climate change on economics, mathematical flaws in the conventional model of supply and demand and inclusion of non monetary variables in the calculation of GDP.

Kah Walla

In this episode, Elsa speaks to Kah Walla a leading Cameroonian entrepreneur and authority in leadership and strategy and CEO of STRATEGIES!, a renownedconsultancy with a global presence. Over 90 percent of their revenue comes from international clients, a testament to her global impact. Kah's political activism began in 1989, advocating for democracy. She was a pivotal figure in the Social Democratic Front (SDF) and contested the removal of presidential term limits in 2008. She later founded the Cameroon People’s Party (CPP), embracing a new era of African political leadership focused on good governance and democracy. During the podcast we will get Kah’s insights on healthcare and economic challenges in African countries and what might good economic models look like.

Her work on the care economy and long-term care seeks to advance research on care for persons with debilitating conditions and those unable to live independently and to inform policy action to develop transformative long term care systems in Africa. Gloria currently leads the Ageing and Development Unit at the African Population and Health Research Center and was previously an Associate Professor of Gerontology at the University of Southampton (UK)

Dr. Donghyun Park

In this episode, Elsa speaks to Dr. Donghyun Park about the difference between wellness, happiness and wellbeing and its impact on our economy. Dr. Donghyun Park is currently an Economic Advisor at the Economic Research and Development Impact Department (ERDI) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which he joined in April 2007. Prior to joining ADB, he was a tenured Associate Professor of Economics at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Dr. Park has a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA, and his main research fields are international finance, international trade, and development economics. His research, which has been published in more than 160 refereed journal papers, revolves around policy-oriented topics relevant for Asia’s development, including fiscal policy, population aging, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Park is the Managing Editor of Asian Development Review.

Dr. Nata Duvvury

In this episode, Elsa speaks to Dr. Nata Duvvury about how violence sets us back whilst impacts progress and wellbeing. Dr. Nata Duvvury is a development expert with research interests in gender, livelihoods, governance and social mobilization and has extensive international research and program experience in gender and development with particular emphasis on gender inequality, domestic violence, rights-based approaches to development, and civil society participation and accountability. She has authored more than fifty research reports, peer-review publications and papers in edited books.

Mitali Nikore

In this episode, Elsa speaks to Mitali Nikore who unpacks the range of gender inequities faced in India and the impact of unpaid care work on women. Mitali Nikore, an economist and gender policy specialist, is the founder of the youth-led research group Nikore Associates. She advises multilateral organisations such as the Asian Development Bank, UN Women and the World Bank as well as private sector consulting firms such as EY and PwC. She is a part of the Global Shapers New Delhi Hub (an initiative of the World Economic Forum) and is also an advisor to the Steering Committee of BRICS CCI Young Leaders. Her work focuses on infrastructure development, industries, MSMEs, economic corridors and gender mainstreaming; it spans a wide range of sectors both in South Asia and Africa at the national and sub-national levels.

Dr. Kristine Gloria

In this episode, Elsa speaks to Dr.Kristine Gloria about understanding the impact of technology on mental health, ethical AI and how we can improve wellbeing and interpersonal relationships. As a former academic, social impact entrepreneur, and dedicated steward of technology for good, Kristine’s expertise sits at the intersection of the human condition and technology with specific interest in youth mental health and wellbeing. Currently, she serves as Head of Data at Blue Fever, and most notably leads a team responsible for developing "Blue", an AI-driven big sibling that supports members of the BF community on their emotional and mental health journey. Prior to Blue Fever, Kristine co-founded and served as Chief Science Officer for Slow Talk, a public benefit corporation focused on creating an employee engagement platform that emphasizes human connection.
