15 episodes

Reverence for Impulse is an unscripted, unplanned and (hopefully) unedited podcast with me, Weena Pauly-Tarr. Together with my guests, we’re asking what is alive in this moment? We start each episode with a few minutes of meeting each other head-to-toe, through the language of our bodies, before we press record and bring it to a conversation. We start where we are. This is not a hard hitting agenda or getting to the bottom of things, it's about being in the bottoms of things. Finding each other in the not-knowing. I’m here for the spaciousness, the awkwardness, the silliness, the silence — From the dark insides of our bodies to the brightness of our minds, I'm excited to welcome people who’s impulses I’d like to get to know.

Reverence for Impulse with Mariana Buccozzi

    Mariana's Bio:

One of my greatest passions is being in relationship. I love sharing, learning, teaching, being in presence with others and observing the unique impact that relationships have on each of us.
I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, master trainer of systemic-relational psychotherapists and teacher in trainning in Somatic Experiencing.
My clinical work with individuals, families and couples integrates psychotherapy and SE which allows me to navigate relational issues with a special attention to the body and its wonderful physiology. For me there is nothing more beautiful than being able to accompany my consultants and colleagues in training on this path of learning to live in their bodies with more presence and deepening their capacity to connect with others.

Reverence for Impulse with Nick Duran

    Nick Duran Bio:

My therapy practice is person-centered and trauma-informed, emphasizing collaboration and skill building. I utilize techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness, EMDR, and expressive arts therapy to address unhelpful ways of thinking and the bodily impact of stress and trauma. I meet clients where they are and offer treatment that is LGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally responsive. I am devoted to working with individuals
facing various issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD, grief, and life transitions. I believe individuals are the experts of their lived experience, and therapy is an investment in one’s success and empowerment.
In addition to attaining my MS in Counseling Psychology from California State University Long Beach, I have a background in the arts and education and hold a BFA and MFA in Dance. I enjoy dancing in nature—the beach, mountains, deserts, and forests along the west coast. I make ceramics and drawings in my free time, and I sing when I think no one can hear me. I believe in the transformative power of art—to heal and connect deeply with oneself and one’s community—which I bring into the therapeutic process.

Reverence for Impulse with Tim Pauly

    Tim's Bio:

Whatever I do, the same skills apply across the board: empathy, honesty, collaboration, improvisation, and shared vision. So whether the arena is work, family, or partnership, these are the values I bring. A heart-forward curiosity has guided my path through professional life. The immeasurable value of getting outside my comfort zone led me overseas and into a career helping other Americans do the same. Meditation and questioning of cultural norms opened the door to the sacred field of end-of-life care. My love for community and new ways of collaborating took me to the forefront of the co-working movement. And my deep reverence for the body, the more-than-human, directionality, aimlessness, and (actually) irreverence brought me into my current work as a Somatic Coach. I work with clients from all backgrounds and seem to catch the attention of those seeking depth and direction around gender, sexuality, and their relationship with self/selves.
