    Cambodia Town and Camera Lenses - In Conversation with Ethan Soo (Mini-Episode)

    For the second of this week's mini-episodes, I talked to film student Ethan Soo about his upcoming project, "Landmine" - a short film about a young working class woman living in Long Beach's Cambodia Town. Cambodia Town is a small stretch of city with the highest concentration of Cambodians outside of their native country and doesn't get a ton of press; so I was very interested to hear the details about the community Ethan had picked up through his project's extensive research. It was a pleasure talking to Ethan, and I'm eager to see the finished project.

    A&Rs and R&B - In Conversation with Angela McPhee (Mini-Episode)

    This week on the Reverse Sellouts, I spoke to my friend and former classmate Angela McPhee about her work in the music industry, both as a singer-songwriter and on the other side of things as an A&R. For those (like myself) largely unaware of the ins-and-outs of the industry, Angela had lots of information to share. She also gave some interesting insight into the balance between her own personal musical endeavors and realizing the vision of others while working in the industry. Angela and I had a great (and somewhat brief, thanks to finals season) conversation, and I hope you enjoy it as well. Thanks for tuning in!

    Dutch Factories and Double Exposure - In Conversation with Kirsten Thys van den Audenaerde

    This week on Reverse Sellouts I spoke to Kirsten Thys van den Audenaerde. Kirsten is an Antwerp-based freelance photographer who specializes in nude figures and natural settings; particularly in the American west, where Kirsten says she found herself at home. Kirsten also only shoots on polaroid - a medium that I didn't know too much about prior to our conversation, but one I walked away with a new appreciation for. Kirsten had a wealth of knowledge and passion for her craft, and it was a real pleasure speaking with her.

    Hand-Blown Glass and Hometown Heritage - In Conversation with Dan Friday

    This week on Reverse Sellouts, I talked to Seattle-based glass artist Dan Friday. Dan's work - which marries his Lummi heritage with the relatively new world of glass sculpture - has been featured in galleries from Taiwan to New York. We talked about all sorts of things, including his history in the industry and the previous life that glass helped him to escape as a youth.
