Feng Shui Living: Tips for busy women looking to destress, relieve anxiety, and live with more intention

Lisa Morton

I'm Lisa Morton, and for over 20 years I've been helping people, especially busy women, create homes that actually support their lives. Here's the truth: your home isn't just where you live. It's either working for you or working against you. And most of us don't even realize it. On this podcast, I share practical Feng Shui, holistic interior design, and real talk about how your physical space affects your health, your energy, and your ability to show up fully in your life. You'll get easy-to-implement tips you can do this weekend. You'll hear client stories that might feel like your own. And you'll learn that creating a home you actually love isn't complicated or "woo"...it's just intentional. Whether you're feeling stuck, ready for a reset, recovering from a heavy life event, or simply wanting more peace and clarity in your home, this is for you. We'll talk about everything from your bedroom and front door to color, lighting, flow, clutter, and the energy that moves through your space. Let's create a home that feels as good as it looks.

It's Never About the Remodel: What Your Renovation Requests Are Really Telling You

Click here to send Lisa a message. Over the past 20+ years of walking into homes as a designer and feng shui master teacher, I've noticed something that happens almost every single time. Someone calls me about their kitchen, their primary bedroom, or their basement, and within the first 20 minutes of really talking it through, that room starts to disappear. What comes forward instead is something so much bigger. In this episode, I'm sharing three real client stories that taught me this lesson over and over again. One couple asked for new cabinets and countertops, and what we uncovered was a marriage that had gone quiet, and a dining table that brought them back together. Another woman wanted her primary bedroom redone, and what we found was a woman who had spent years giving everyone else in her home the nicer things while she quietly went without. And a couple who wanted their basement finished ended up finally having the money conversation they'd been avoiding for years. None of this is about being dishonest with yourself. A remodel is often the most acceptable way to ask for something deeper — connection, rest, self-worth, or the permission to finally talk about what's really going on. I'll walk you through each story, and I'll leave you with a journal prompt of your own: what's a space in your home you keep saying you want to fix, and when you picture it the way you want it to feel, not look, what's actually missing? If this episode stirs something up for you, I'd love to talk it through. You can grab one of my free 15-minute discovery calls through the link below. Celebrating Year 3, Kicking off Year Four

Click here to send Lisa a message. Can you believe it? We're closing out year three of Feng Shui Living and stepping into year four, and I'm celebrating by bringing back one of my favorite people for this milestone episode: trained astrologer, dear friend, and my right hand behind the scenes, Maggie Kitch. In this episode, we're pulling back the curtain a little. I'm sharing where the podcast has grown to (over 71,000 downloads, if you can believe it, with nearly double the growth this year alone), the surprising city that leads my listenership (hint: it's not the one you'd guess), and which episodes and client stories really resonated with you this year. We also revisit some of my most-loved client stories, including a little girl's neon bedroom that was accidentally recreating hospital energy, and a home wrapped top to bottom in plastic sheeting that needed far more than a deep clean. Maggie pulled up my astrology chart from the very first day I hit record back in August 2023 and compared it to right now, and what she found about the year ahead genuinely gave me chills, especially with the timing lining up right before my Aligned Sanctuary Retreat this September. Plus, I'm sharing a peek at what's ahead in year four, including new guest episodes and my upcoming Feng Shui Basics course this fall. Thank you for three amazing years. Here's to closing this chapter well and diving into year four together. Organizing for Calm: A Wellness-First Approach to Your Home with Ashley Murphy of NEAT Method

Click here to send Lisa a message.   Today I'm joined by Ashley Murphy, co-founder and CEO of NEAT Method and author of The NEAT Method Organizing Recipe Book. Ashley started her career as an in-home personal trainer, and it was there that she first noticed something surprising: a client's disorganized space could quietly undo the progress they were making everywhere else. That observation eventually grew into a national organizing brand with a community behind it that she's incredibly proud of. We talk about why the kitchen (not the closet) tends to be the biggest source of stress in a home, why she never recommends buying bins and baskets first, and the simple mindset shift — renaming your "junk drawer" — that can change how you feel about a space entirely. If you've ever felt like your home is working against you instead of for you, this conversation is for you. In this episode: How a personal training client taught Ashley that a disorganized home was affecting more than just her spaceWhy the kitchen and primary bedroom hold the most stress in a homeThe "quick win" to try before you buy a single organizing productMeasuring your "prime real estate" before you buy bins or basketsWhat The NEAT Method Organizing Recipe book is really teachingHow a side hustle grew into a 100+ market organizing communityLinks mentioned: NEAT Method: https://neatmethod.com/The NEAT Method Organizing Recipe book: https://neatmethod.com/products/bookJoin the Aligned at Home Collective: https://www.purelivingwithlisamorton.com/collective.html  Support the show Thanks so much for listening to Feng Shui Living! How My Virtual Work Actually Works (Consultations + Space Clearings)

Click here to send Lisa a message.  I get two questions all the time: “Lisa, how can you possibly help me if you’ve never set foot inside my home?” and “Wait, how does an energetic space clearing even work from far away?” In this episode I’m pulling back the curtain on both sides of my virtual work. First, I walk you through how a remote consultation actually happens. I share a story about a client in Savannah, Georgia, and how a floor plan, a few photos, and about 25 minutes together on Zoom told me almost everything I needed to know about her home, and her finances, before she said even a word. Then I go even deeper into distance space clearing itself. I’ll explain what it actually is, why I believe (and have seen) that it can be even more powerful than an in-person clearing, and I’ll share a story involving a gong that still gives me chills. If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to work with Lisa, but I’m not local,” this episode is for you. Location has never been a barrier to either a consultation or a clearing, and I want you to understand exactly why. Also in this episode: I share an update on the Aligned Sanctuary retreat — it’s officially sold out, but there’s still a way to get on the list.   Support the show Thanks so much for listening to Feng Shui Living! 5 Ways to Regain Control of Your Home This Summer

Click here to send Lisa a message. Have you ever walked into your home this summer and just... stopped? Not because anything's wrong exactly, but because it feels like chaos. Shoes multiplying by the door, mail piling up on the counter, half-empty water bottles on every surface. If that's you, I want you to hear me say this: it's so normal for this season of life. Summer connects to the fire element in Feng Shui, high energy, in and out the door, schedules that change every single day. Of course your home reflects that. In this episode, I'm sharing five simple, doable ways to regain control of your home this summer. No major cleaning day, no overhaul, no remodel required. In this episode, I cover: Why trying to fix the whole house at once leads to freezing instead of progress, and how to pick just one zone to startHow to create a landing pad for keys, sunglasses, and everything else that comes in the door with youThe two-minute fresh air reset that shifts both the feel and the energy of your homeA five to ten minute nightly surface clear ritual that changes how your whole morning feelsHow to notice when a system that worked for another season no longer fits where you are nowThis is a short and sweet one you can come back to anytime you're feeling overwhelmed.
