050: The Most Important Episode
As folks of color, it’s not uncommon for us to start our businesses because we hit (racist) walls in the corporate world.
The only problem?
Most of the time…we start our businesses being that same shitty boss we tried to escape.
In today’s episode, I’ll be sharing the ultimate key to being loud, being real, and being seen:
Doing it your own damn way.
(Seriously, don’t even do mine!)
This is why, when I recorded today’s episode of the Revolutionary Rising Podcast, I gave it a bold name:
The Most Important Episode
Because the truth is, nothing else I’ve told you throughout this season is going to matter if you’re still accidentally implementing it through this white supremacist, patriarchal lens.
I’ll also be talking about how you:
Don’t have to hustle to be loud, real, and be seen Can be super private (or shy!) and still be fully expressed Can start implementing YOUR unique way of being loud, real, and seen

049: Reclaiming Your Name w/ Junielle Rosher
When I met Junielle, she went by “Elle”...
…because, you guessed it – she felt like her name was “too difficult.”
But lately, she’s been reclaiming her voice…
…and as she’s reclaimed her voice, she’s reclaimed her name.
During this episode, we talked about so much, like:
Junielle’s experience growing up as one of the few Black kids in her Canadian town why Junielle had to first feel “worthy” and “enough” to reclaim her name how getting a full-time job was the best decision Junielle has ever made for her business how Junielle intentionally curates more joy in her day to day, even when she hasn’t met all her “goals”
I love Junielle so much – and if you love me, I think you’ll adore this episode with her, too.
About Junielle:
She inspires. She uplifts. She is the hype woman to have in your corner. Junielle is a speaker and the founder of the Joy Calendar, a community for millennial women to have fun and schedule more joy in their lives.
Weaving her mindset knowledge with her desire to find her authentic self in a world that praises conformity, Junielle is passionate about prioritizing her well-being while encouraging others to do the same.
Her circle is grateful for her playful energy, her calm presence and her unwavering commitment to helping women live their best, bold and liberated lives.
When she’s not coming up with fun ways to infuse more joy in her community’s lives, you’ll often find her tutoring high school students, or on Instagram, dancing to her favorite tunes.

048: You’re Gonna Get Called Out
As a result of “cancel culture,” you might feel pretty damned unsafe showing up boldly in these streets, because you can’t afford to say the wrong thing and have it impact your finances.
I used to be terrified that when I spoke up as an entrepreneur and leader, I’d be canceled or called out, too.
But I’m over that drama now.
In this episode, I’m talking about:
why being called out can actually be a GOOD thing the #1 thing that’ll help you give zero fucks about getting called out how it might be a good idea to care less about harming people (I know, spicy!) what to do if you get called out

046: You Aren’t That Special (Sorry!)
Today I’m saying something that you really need to hear… you’re not that special.
Y’all should know me better by now and I know you that there’s more to today’s topic.
Today’s message is super simple:
There’s a systemic reason that you feel like no one understands you There are so many people who relate to you and your experiences
Listen in to find out exactly why you’re special but not that special

045: You Are Not For Everyone w/ Dalia Kinsey
“Anything that doesn’t affirm you needs to be avoided like the plague”
Today, we’re talking about how Dalia went from shut down to being more visible than most folks could dream of.
(And feeling safe being that visible, too!)
In this episode, Dalia and I discussed:
How saying “no” is a complete sentence How Dalia got the courage to go for being for “everyone” to being just for queer BIPOC How talking to the wrong people in your marketing can be demotivating The importance of community in Dalia’s journey to showing up and being seen
The racist af roots of diet culture (this might surprise you! It surprised me!)
About Dalia:
Dalia Kinsey is a queer Black Registered Dietitian, keynote speaker, the creator of the Body Liberation for All podcast, and author of Decolonizing Wellness: A QTBIPOC-Centered Guide to Escape the Diet Trap, Heal Your Self-Image, and Achieve Body Liberation. On a mission to spread joy, reduce suffering, and eliminate health disparities in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC community, Dalia rejects diet culture and teaches people to use nutrition as a self-care and personal empowerment tool to counter the damage of systemic oppression. Dalia works at the intersection of holistic wellness and social justice, continually creating wellness tools and resources that center the most vulnerable, individuals that hold multiple marginalized identities. Dalia’s work can be found at
DECOLONIZING WELLNESS by Dalia Kinsey is out now! This body-positive food freedom book counters the damage of systemic oppression in the wellness industry and provides a road map to body acceptance and self-care for queer people of color

Customer Reviews
F’king amazing!
Gieselle is brilliant! Every single episode has a couple of gems that I desperately needed to hear. She has this gift in knowing where I, as a woman of color doing all I can to decolonize my life and business, am on my journey and EXACTLY what will help me unlearn, process, and grow as a human AND a leader. I’m so happy I found her!
Love this podcast.
I’m a listener and learning to unlearn the pathology of whiteness. Thank you.
I LOVE Gieselle’s Honesty, It’s Refreshing!
The episode on dismantling the hustle mentality really made me take a look at my entrepreneurial journey and how a lot of it has been influenced by what I saw others doing vs what actually served me, my life and what I want. I love how Gieselle not only shares this message from a place of awareness but from a place of someone who has overcome and built a business she loves that complements who she is. And her voice is amazing btw.
