Efficiency thrives on prioritization. If you're looking to make a serious impact on your game, you've gotta focus on what matters most. Find that crucial 20% that brings in the big wins, and ditch the rest, the 80%, that's just hogging up your time.

S3E1 - DECLARING - "serious" vs recreational basketball

S3E1 - DECLARING - "serious" vs recreational basketball

    Coach Darryl is back!

Season 3 kicks off with the declaration of YOUR basketball journey.

Ultimately, the choice between recreational ball and serious basketball training depends on individual preferences, goals, and commitments. Both options offer unique benefits, and individuals should consider what aligns best with their interests and aspirations. However, the choice MUST be made.

Recreational Ball serves its purpose with its social benefits; less pressure - allowing a more enjoyable experience without the stress of competition. And flexibility, making it easier to fit basketball around other commitments such as work or school.

When choosing Serious Basketball Training the commitment level changes. Serious training provides a structured environment for improving basketball skills such as shooting, dribbling, defense, and teamwork. With dedicated coaching and practice sessions, players can significantly enhance their abilities.Competitive Opportunities can lead to fulfilling achievements and recognition within the basketball community. Opening doors to competitive leagues, tournaments, and possibly even scholarships or professional opportunities for highly skilled players. Lastly, the discipline, perseverance, and work ethic required for serious training can translate to valuable life skills beyond the basketball court. Players learn the importance of goal-setting, resilience, and teamwork, which can benefit them in various aspects of their lives.

We'd love to hear which path you chose & why. Let us know!

What have been your pros & cons?

Did you changed your mind halfway in?

Do you regret not going down the other path?

    What would you do differently?

S2E2 - 8 Principles of Efficient Basketball Development

S2E2 - 8 Principles of Efficient Basketball Development

Coach Darryl Adams and former RD alumni and current head varsity basketball coach at Georgetown Day School, Marquis Bell, continue the discussion of realities as trainees embark on the journey to high school basketball. They discuss 8 principles of efficient basketball development. How do you get the most out of your training? Do you hinder your progress? Is there a plan to lead you to your specific goals? Is there a measurable deliverable?

Grab a pen and a pad and tune in as they breakdown these 8 principles:

    Making demands of your trainer
Allow your trainer to get to know you
Set goals, long and short term, with measurable deliverables
Get ready to do some of the work at home
    Take risks while in training
Be open minded about the training process and their use of technology
Expect positive feedback only when you set forth a high level of effort

What are your thoughts? We'd love to hear what your take is regarding these principles. Do you agree? Are we missing anything?

S2E1 - The Journey to High School Basketball

S2E1 - The Journey to High School Basketball

We're back with Season 2 of The Rhythm Dribble Basketball Development Podcast! In this season, we're on the court, focusing on offensive & defensive concepts; highly effective techniques; opportunities in development and much more. We're also pairing the podcast discussions with some valuable development content, including learning videos and written resources for basketball players, parents, trainers and coaches leading to the path of improvement that can be found on our PATREON page. So head over to www.patreon.com/RhythmDribble and subscribe today! There truly is no other resources online like Rhythm Dribble and we can't do this without you!

There are no guarantees in this journey, however it's clear that other aspects of an athlete's life will benefit from the grind and discipline along the way. The character traits being molded are translatable to all areas of life. Keep your blinders on, do the work, overcome obstacles and at minimum reap the "collateral benefits".

In episode 1 of this season, Coach Darryl Adams and former RD alumni and current head varsity basketball coach at Georgetown Day School, Marquis Bell, discuss some realities as trainees embark on the journey to high school basketball. While there are many great trainers who are teaching great things, gaps and inefficiency in development still exist. It’s rarely what trainers are teaching that is the problem, it’s typically HOW they are teaching it that creates the deficits and/or the opportunity for advantages. Tune in and join the conversation! We'd love to hear what you've experienced or are currently experiencing in the journey.
