Slow Living for Entrepreneurs: Embracing Change & Our Move to Costa Rica

What if you didn’t have to wait for burnout, a breaking point, or a life crisis to change direction? In this episode of Ripple FX, we talk about what it looks like to embrace change intentionally instead of waiting for something to force it. After years of building our business while traveling abroad, we’ve started to design our lives around something we call chapter-based living. This episode explores our transition from our previous chapter in Malta to our new chapter in Costa Rica, and how this shift has influenced the way we approach entrepreneurship, lifestyle design, and slow living. For entrepreneurs who feel exhausted by hustle culture or who are craving a more intentional rhythm to their work and life, this conversation may offer a new perspective. We also share some of the practical steps behind making a transition like this work while running a business remotely! Topics we cover in this episode:  Are You Waiting for Something to Break Before You Evolve? From Digital Nomad to Chapter-Based Living Living With the Awareness That a Chapter Will End The Practical Side of Moving Abroad as Entrepreneurs Supporting Conservation in Costa Rica This episode is part of the global podcast initiative Podcasthon, where thousands of podcasts highlight charities making a positive impact. We’re honored to spotlight the Wildlife Conservation Association located near Nosara. Their work focuses on protecting sea turtles, wildlife habitats, and the surrounding ecosystems of the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge through scientific research, community education, and conservation programs. Living in this environment has made us more aware of how deeply connected our lifestyles are to the ecosystems around us. If you’d like to support their work, you can learn more here:https://www.wcanosara.org You can also explore other charities participating in Podcasthon at:http://www.podcasthon.org Ana Xavier, The Podcasting Space And remember, waves don’t die. Letting Your Niche Unfold: A Softer Way to Find Your Niche for Creative Entrepreneurs

Niching doesn’t have to feel like a cage or a premature commitment. It can be an unfolding. In this episode of Ripple FX, we explore niching as a living, breathing process shaped by curiosity, life experience, listening, & timing. For creative entrepreneurs and multi-passionate founders, this is an invitation to soften the pressure & trust the pattern that’s already forming. Rather than forcing clarity, we look at how your niche often reveals itself through what you’ve loved, what you’ve tried, & what the world has asked of you. Topics we cover in this episode:  Niching feels charged, let’s reframe it together Tapping into your childhood experiences to find what lights you up Saying YES before it all makes sense Refining through repetition & real-life conversations Letting the world shape the work What doesn’t belong in your niche Niching is a journey, not a deadline.Stay curious, practice saying what you do, listen deeply & let it evolve. From Chance Meetings to Record Rituals: How Small Choices Shape Creative Lives

What starts as a casual decision often becomes the moment that changes everything. In this episode of Ripple FX, we sit down with Patman & Marsela, a husband-&-wife DJ duo behind Record Rituals, to explore how small, seemingly insignificant choices can create powerful ripple effects across love, career, & creative life. From applying for a job abroad “just to see what happens,” to a chance meeting on a dancefloor during COVID, this conversation traces how openness, timing, & trust in the unknown shaped their journey across Malta, Gozo, & Spain. Together, we talk about building a creative life abroad, working with your partner, sustaining artistry in a world that demands productivity, & why consistency, humility, & leaving room for mystery matter more than chasing outcomes. This episode is an invitation for creative entrepreneurs, DJs, artists, expats, & couples who work together to soften control & trust the path as it unfolds. And yes, it all started with a “magic cigarette” & a passion for music! Patman & Marsela are a husband-&-wife DJ duo based on the small Mediterranean island of Gozo. United by love & a passion for music, their sets weave together a style which blends soul, disco, house, Afro, gospel, Latin, global grooves & something genuinely uplifting drawn from years of digging, travelling, & sharing musical moments. Patman’s decade in Spain & background as a multi-instrumentalist deeply influenced his approach to DJing & event curation, while Marsela brings a rich broadcasting background & intuitive sense of flow from her roots in Albania. Their shared philosophy is simple: good music transcends genre, & creativity thrives when it’s shared. You’ve both lived, loved, & created across different countries. Looking back, what’s one moment or decision that felt small at the time but ended up creating a ripple effect that changed the direction of your lives or careers? Building community through music & events abroad Working with your partner without losing mystery Why structure supports creativity, not stifles it Navigating creative careers without chasing money Consistency over intensity in creative practice Humility, relationship-building, & long-term reputation Being present on the dancefloor in a digital age What decision did you once make casually that changed everything later? How can you create more consistency without pressure? What would happen if you stopped chasing outcomes & focused on devotion instead? Where could you leave more room for surprise, mystery, or play? Leaving Well Part 2: How to Close a Chapter with Reverence

Leaving well is not about abandoning things. It’s about honoring what served you — spaces, people, roles, identities — so you create sacred room for who you’re becoming next. From physical spaces to digital files, from client opportunities to the woman you were last year — each goodbye becomes a deliberate act of reverence and readiness. Tie in Naomi’s podcast. Leaving doesn’t have to be messy or dramatic; it can be sacred.  Some practical ways we let go, allowing space for more aligned blessings Examples to weave in: Clearing Google Drive Cleaning phone footage & desktop files Decluttering the home & closets Unfollowing Instagram accounts Organizing IG saved folders Leaving Facebook groups that no longer fit  4. Sacred Completions Before the Chapter Ends Here’s where you introduce two major “soul decisions”: This models what courage looks like: saying yes to a calling before the timeline feels perfect. What nudges are calling you right now? Even if it doesn’t ‘feel like the right timing.’ Are you chasing misaligned work? Where do you need to say no so that you can allow more aligned client work that represents your worth? Here’s where Lawrence’s music comes in beautifully: Talk about how his signature style — that blend of joy and longing — mirrors this exact emotional space: Gratitude for what was Soft ache for what’s passed Wide-open welcome for what’s next Use it as a sonic metaphor for leaving well: “There’s a frequency that makes us feel full-hearted… a little sad… and wildly alive. That’s what closing chapters feels like when you do it consciously.” This is the emotional peak of the episode. Why You Need a Business Bestie (Even If You’re ‘Independent’)

Community, collaboration & aligned relationships expand your business more than going it alone. In this episode of Ripple FX, we explore the quiet power of business besties & why entrepreneurship grows deeper, stronger, & more sustainable when you stop trying to carry the entire mountain yourself. We’ve been taught to glorify independence (especially in the U.S.), but true expansion happens through interdependence. When you let the right people into your world, the ones who share your rhythm, your mission, & your values, you feel held, supported, & stretched in the best ways.  Topics we cover in this episode:  How collaboration creates more opportunity than competition ever will The role of aligned friendships in your creative expansion How to build relationships that feel nourishing, mutual, and rooted in shared values How to navigate the ever-changing landscape of online business with people who “get it” Practices to implement: Identify the people in your current orbit who feel aligned with your mission Look for collaborators who complement your skills Reach out to someone whose work you admire and open a door Keep showing up in the spaces where your values naturally intersect with others Resource from this episode: Kassandra Jones, Founder of TURE - check out her portfolio! Life Is Like Jazz: How to Adapt, Improvise & Stay Grounded

In this episode of Ripple FX, we explore how mastery, adaptability, & flow shape the way you move through life & business. Just like jazz, there’s a rhythm, a structure, & a foundation, but your essence only kicks in once you let yourself play. Without grounding, everything feels chaotic. Without improvisation, everything feels rigid. When you understand your craft deeply, you gain the confidence to pivot, evolve, & respond to what life (& your audience) brings your way. This is about building a business from the inside out, through practice, intuition, & presence, while trusting that the unexpected moments are part of the melody. We explore:  How “life is like jazz” applies to entrepreneurship, creativity, & personal evolution Why mastery gives you freedom, not restriction, in your business The power of showing up consistently (your rhythm) before experimenting (your riff) How to stay open to aligned opportunities you didn’t plan for What moving abroad taught us about surrendering & trusting your foundation The goal isn’t to control every note; it’s to build enough mastery that you can improvise without fear. When you do, you’ll feel more grounded, confident, & flexible in the way you serve, create, & respond to change. Practices to implement: Portable rituals: Create routines (like morning practices) that travel with you and anchor your energy anywhere in the world Creative mastery: Keep refining your craft (your voice, your offers, your storytelling) so experimentation becomes effortless Letting life co-create: Plant seeds without obsessing over how the harvest should look Resource from this episode: Mastery by Robert Greene free pdf (on skill, intuition & long-term craft) General Resources: 🎧Social media & podcast marketing services 🗣️Book a free discovery call with us! 🎙️Business and Podcast Event for Female Entrepreneurs 👋🏽Connect with us on Instagram

Balancing Masculine & Feminine Energy in Your Brand

In this episode of Ripple FX, we discuss how you can use feminine & masculine archetypes to create alignment in your business (& life). Without awareness, we often default into imbalance, either hustling without joy (too much masculine) or staying stuck in ideas without action (too much feminine). When you can name the energy you’re operating from, you can shift, integrate, and ultimately build a brand that feels magnetic and authentic. This is about building your business from the inside out, not just through external strategies, but by deeply knowing yourself and the energy you bring to every client interaction, piece of content, or offer. We explore: The difference between masculine & feminine archetypes (structure vs. flow, action vs. intuition) Signs of imbalance in business (burnout vs. procrastination) How to integrate both energies for better alignment in your life & business Practical tools to shift between masculine and feminine modes A behind-the-scenes look at how we balance these energies in both our relationship and our business The goal isn’t to choose one energy over the other, but to become aware of which archetype you’re operating from & to practice weaving both together. When you do, you’ll notice more balance, ease, & alignment in your daily life! And here’s the ripple effect: the energy you embody doesn’t just stay with you. It flows into your business, your relationships, your brand, & the clients you attract. By integrating both masculine & feminine archetypes, you create a ripple that shapes not only how you show up, but also how others experience & respond to your work. Practices to implement: Self-awareness check-ins: Ask, What energy was I in during that meeting, content piece, or decision? Daily balance: Scheduling action blocks & boundaries (masculine) while also allowing unstructured creative time (feminine) Content strategy: Pairing posts that sell or call to action (masculine) with posts that share behind-the-scenes, vulnerability, and process (feminine) Resources from this episode: Ripple FX eps. 15: What a Tiny Shop in Gozo Taught Us about Holistic Business Growth (storytelling archetypes) Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés (on feminine archetypes & storytelling) King, Warrior, Magician, Lover by Robert Moore & Douglas Gillette (on masculine archetypes) General Resources: 🎙️Free Virtual Business and Podcast Event for Female Entrepreneurs 👋🏽Connect with us on Instagram 🎧‘Uhm’ proof your podcast with our editing services Poli Garbaciak- holistic coach & women’s retreat host⚡Browse the work that lights us up
