To all my educator friends, do yourself a favor and listen to my good friend, Robin Kevles-Necowitz’s podcast episode with a current Temple University student about his journey as a trans man. As educators, we never know what our students carry with them each day into our classrooms and offices. Hearing Bens’s story reminds me that we have the opportunity-the obligation to be honest- to create safe spaces for all students. Robin’s book, Go Take a Bath: A Self-Care Approach to Extraordinary Parenting, has guided and reinforced my parenting formula for years. I’ve referenced its themes to my friends 100s of times. And now, I find myself constantly bringing up things said on her podcast! It’s informative, thought provoking and playful. A great space to feel reflective about life’s motions.

Robin’s Nest is not only extremely informative and thought provoking, it is also hilarious and entertaining. Robin takes her years of psychotherapy experience and witty sense of humor and crafts it into an incredible podcast. This is exactly what I needed during such a tumultuous time. I have used Robin’s book, “Go Take a Bath; a parenting guide…”, in my therapy practice for years, so when I saw she was doing a podcast I jumped right on to listen and was met with the same humor and nuggets of wisdom I have integrated into my own life from her book. It’s a relatable conversation about what it is like living, growing, and just learning to be ourselves while also raising kids in these fast paced times in our American Culture. All done with humor and heart.
