Pete Hegseth Blocks Black Officers Black farmers get shut out of Trump White House farmers event - Again.  John Boyd, the President of the National Black Farmer Association, will be here to explain if he ever got an invitation.  Georgia Republicans tried to suppress votes by targeting nonpartisan district attorneys in five metro Atlanta counties. We will have two Georgia lawmakers here to discuss the situation. In North Carolina, a judge has upheld the state's voter ID law. A MAGA-aligned dark money group used an unauthorized photo of President Barack Obama and misrepresented his position on the Virginia referendum. Michael Eric Dyson delivered a powerful prayer on the floor of the Tennessee State House, which may have left some white evangelicals wanting to confront him afterward. I'll be speaking with him and Justin Pearson, who invited him to pray. Racist Pete Hegseth reportedly blocked the military promotion of four officers – two women and two Black men – to become one-star generals. The twice-impeached, criminally convicted felon-in-chief, Donald "The Con" Trump, fired the now-former Attorney General on Thursday. John Hope Bryant, Operation HOPE founder & CEO, has a new book called "Capitalism for All.  He's here discuss the impact of AI on the future of work, Trump accounts, his thoughts on capitalism, and more. A federal judge dismissed multiple claims of a civil rights lawsuit filed by the family of a black man who was shot and killed by Alabama police officers in September 2023. The judge, however, ruled that the suit against the officer who actually pulled the trigger can move forward. More on that ahead.  A Black South Carolina couple files a federal lawsuit against a South Carolina state trooper, accusing the trooper of wrongly holding their family at gunpoint in 2025. The couple and their attorney are here. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a version of Trump's SAVE Act into law. As this year marks the 10th anniversary of Black Voters Matter, it is now more important than ever to fight back. Co-Founder & Executive Director of Black Voters Matter, Cliff Albright joins us later to talk about their new initiative to combat voter suppression. I spoke with Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens about her upcoming campaign for the Democratic Nominee in August and what she plans on doing to help black and minority communities across the state of Michigan if elected in November. We will share some of today's arguments from the attorneys defending the Constitution and gain insights from Elie Mystal, the Nation's Justice Correspondent. Virginia's Attorney General, Jay Jones, will discuss Trump's illegal executive order on voting. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has signed a new bill requiring insurance companies to cover prostate cancer screenings at no cost. Senators Press 2020 Election Truth After a decade, the white officer who killed Terence Crutcher will finally face a jury for her actions, following an appeals court ruling that Betty Jo Shelby is not entitled to qualified immunity. I will speak with the family attorney and Terence's sister about this significant judicial victory. The Supreme Court Justices have heard arguments regarding a Mississippi death penalty case that raises important issues about race, jury selection, and fairness within the criminal justice system. This follows a 2019 decision in which the Supreme Court overturned another inmate's conviction for similar misconduct involving the same prosecutor and judge. Democratic Senators Richard Blumenthal and Sheldon Whitehouse called out the judicial nominees for failing to admit who won the 2020 presidential election.  The Army has suspended four personnel in connection with an incident involving two Apache helicopters flying low over the Nashville home of Kid Rock. We'll also talk to the authors of a new report that outlines the impact of Trump's policies on Black women in business. Starting today, you can participate in the largest survey of Black people in American history. The Executive Director of the Black Futures Lab and the Black to the Future Action Fund will join us later to share more about the Black Census. Nick Cannon and Amber Rose set the internet ablaze, and not for a good reason. Experts warn that Artificial Intelligence could widen the racial wealth gap. We'll speak with a man who emphasizes that training is key to bridging this gap.
