I was once an avid mountain climber who loved to be in the wilderness. Currently as I type this I am doing so with one arm, because I lost the other while climbing the treacherous Mount Everest.
Five weeks ago while climbing Mount Everest on a beautiful summer day, but 24,000 feet up it's not exactly summer! While only 4,000 feet from the summit I had 2 of my carabiner break dropping me down 55 feet and crushing my right forearm in-between two rocks. After being stuck for 28 hours and practically dead I decided that I needed amputate my arm! I gathered the strength, courage and motivation from Flash the Deejays, Role Models podcast! That mix came on and it gave me the strength to saw off my own arm in order to escape and survive the brutal conditions of Mount Everest. Thank you Flash! I listen to your mixes everyday. It reminds me how strong i am! Whether I am riding my bike or at a party playing beer pong with one arm there is nothing else i listen too!
