"Looking Unto Christ in Every Thought: Defeating Fear, Doubt & Discouragement," by Dennis Deaton

"Looking Unto Christ in Every Thought: Defeating Fear, Doubt & Discouragement," by Dennis Deaton

Early in his career as a dentist, Dennis learned he needed to make a change and instead teach mind management principles and human development curriculum to corporations around the world.

In his retirement Dennis received a prompting to take gospel principles he had used in business training, and change it back into the gospel vocabulary again in a book.  After ignoring the prompting several times, he felt rebuked by the Spirit of God, and knew that if he didn't do it, the Lord would find someone who would.

The premise of the book is to teach Christians about the subtleties of the adversary, to succumb to fear, doubt and discouragement.  Anything that discourages you from being your best self or that makes you want to discourage others from being their best selves, does not come from God.

If Satan tries to discourage you from doing something, remember it is a back-door confirmation that you really CAN do it.  Persist and keep looking unto Christ.

"Jewels in Your Pocket: How to Comfortably Share Your Faith Through the Power of Personal Stories," by Roxanne Thayne

In this episode Roxanne is interviewed and shares how the Covid Pandemic of 2020 helped launch the book in a very different way than she had originally planned.  Instead it followed God's plan for opening doors.

She outlines how she was inspired at age twelve to start writing in a journal, and how that practice is how inspiration flows.

But as an author, historian and writer, she still had to overcome the doubts plaguing her that "Who are YOU to write this book?"  And tells the story of how she wanted to bury her book on the day she received the boxes and boxes of books.

waaahh waaahh ,

Inspired me to write a book

I was listening to Heralds episode and his comments on why he wrote the book. It inspires to me to write a book. I don’t have to think too much about what other people will think of It, but I can definitely do it to hopefully praise God. Love this podcast.
