In this conversation with Nicole Jansezian, we talk about what it’s really like behind the scenes of reporting in intense environments- the pace, the pressure, the moments where you just have to keep going… and what happens after. We spoke about: • what it’s like in the moment when everything feels heightened • that “just get through it” mode - and how familiar it can become • what stays with you at the end of the day (and what doesn’t leave so easily) • how your body responds, even when your mind is focused on the job • the impact of October 7 attacks, both personally and professionally • and the tension between doing your job well… and looking after yourself as a person What I kept coming back to during this conversation is this:You can be incredibly capable… and still be carrying more than your system is built to hold long-term. And that doesn’t just apply to journalists in conflict zones. It shows up in leadership, in business, in parenting, in everyday life - when you’re the one people rely on, the one who keeps going, the one who holds it together. This is where the work I do comes in. Because it’s not just about mindset, or pushing through, or switching off for a bit. It’s about understanding what your body is holding, how your nervous system is responding, and what actually needs to shift if you want things to feel different - not just look different on the outside. Inside **Rooted & Rested**, we work with that. willowandrest.com/rooted-rested In a way that fits into real life. Coaching vs Counselling

Get your FREE REST TEST Learn more about the ROOTED & RESTED Coaching Program Find out about trauma informed INTERIORS Why do so many people feel stuck… even after years of therapy, self-awareness, or personal development work? In this episode of the Rooted & Rested™ Podcast, we explore the difference between counselling, therapy, and coaching — and why understanding something intellectually doesn’t always create change in the body. We unpack:• nervous system regulation• somatics and trauma responses• anxiety and panic attacks• burnout recovery• functional freeze and chronic stress• high-functioning coping mechanisms• how your environment impacts your nervous system• trauma-informed interior design• and why sustainable success cannot come at the expense of your health This conversation looks at the gap between knowing you’re safe logically… and your body actually feeling safe enough to rest, regulate, and change. Because you cannot rationalise your way out of a panic attack. And you cannot mindset your way out of an environment your body doesn’t feel safe in. Inside this episode:• Why self-awareness is not the same as nervous system regulation• Why therapy can sometimes stay at the level of the mind• Why coaching creates movement, direction, and integration• How trauma and stress are stored physiologically• Why high-performing people often live completely disconnected from their bodies• How your home and work environments may be dysregulating you daily• Why burnout recovery requires a whole-person approach — body, mind, nervous system, and environment This episode is especially for: entrepreneurs leaders business owners parents high-capacity women people who are functioning on the outside but exhausted underneath it all If you’ve been searching for:burnout recovery coach UK, somatic coach online, nervous system regulation, how to regulate anxiety naturally, trauma-informed coaching, or how your environment affects mental health — this episode will likely resonate. We experience it physically, in the body, first. It’s not about forcing yourself to be calmer, more productive, or more “together.” It’s about learning how to: slow down enough to notice understand what your body is telling you and create real, sustainable change from the inside out Whether you’re a leader, a creative, a business owner, or someone who just feels like they’re carrying too much… You’re in the right place.
