    Mike is a veteran coach who has worked with athletes at every level of competition. In 2018 he retired from an incredible 42 year career coaching at St Catherines Rowing Club and Brock University. He is recognized in the rowing community as one of the foremost authorities on rigging and his book "Notes on Rowing: Rigging" is a fixture on many coaches' bookshelves.     Aquil Abdullah has represented the United States at the World Championships and Olympic Games, highlighted by a 6th place finish in the 2004 Athens Games in the Men's Double Sculls along with partner Henry Nuzum. Aquil was also the first male African-American to win USRowing Nationals, the Diamond Sculls event at the Royal Henley Regatta, and to represent the US at the World Championships and Olympics.
