In the era of “defund the police” and “ACAB” and “the police are racist,” when we see shows like “Live PD” being cancelled and police being removed from the community, we need more open and honest conversation with law enforcement, not less. We need to see that law enforcement are also our neighbors, our fellow parents on our kids ball teams, part of our congregation, or those we sit next to at a restaurant. Are there bad police? Yes. Luckily they are not common and everyone must call out and root out bad law enforcement officers. I believe no one hates bad law enforcement officers more than good law enforcement officers. The only way we can improve law enforcement to serve the community is to realize they ARE part of the community. They are necessary to maintain that thin line between law and order and anarchy. And when leaders in Sacramento are doing everything possible to allow violent and dangerous criminals to walk the streets, we need more partnerships and discussion with law enforcement, not less. This podcast helps the public understand where our highest law enforcement officer of the county sits on key issues impacting our day-to-day lives and helps to educate the public on the troubles our Sheriff faces. Keep up the good work!
