Rule Your Pool is a podcast by Orenda Technologies. This show was created for pool owners, operators, and service pros who want the best water quality possible. If you want to know what's really going on with your swimming pool chemistry, this might be the podcast for you. Each week, we'll cover a new topic related to swimming pools, water chemistry, or indoor air quality. With our help, you'll be able to rule your pool without over-treating it with chemicals and wasting money.
Live from the NESPA Show in Atlantic City
We cannot believe we made it to our 100th episode. So we decided to say thank you while we were together in our booth in Atlantic City during the Northeast Pool & Spa Show. Shaun Mulhall joins us as we say thank you to our growing audience.
Stop Helicopter Parenting your Pool
In this new year's episode, Eric makes a plea to the homeowners listening to the Rule Your Pool podcast: please stop helicopter parenting your pool. Many of the problems customers call Orenda for would not exist if not for constant tinkering with the pool and its chemistry.
How to use the Orenda App
For this special Christmas episode, Jarred and Eric walk demonstrate how to use the Orenda App. More specifically, the Orenda Calculator. This episode is also on video and will be published on YouTube and the Orenda website.
7/7 - What raises and lowers Phosphates?
After a brief overview explanation of phosphates, we discuss where phosphates come from, and how to remove them. In short, phosphates are pretty much inevitable, and since chlorine cannot oxidize them, you need either a phosphate remover or RO filtration to remove them.
6/7 - What raises and lowers Combined Chlorine?
After a brief overview explanation of combined chlorine, we discuss what raises and lowers it. In short, if you have combined chlorine (chloramines), you have nitrogen in your water. Find the source, and address it.
5/7 - What raises and lowers Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)?
After a brief overview explanation of pH, we discuss what raises pH, and what lowers pH. In short, it's about dissolved CO2 in your water.
Best podcast explaining the science behind water chemistry
Pool pro here- This podcast has some of the best information and explanations on water chemistry that you are going to find out there, free of charge. Eric not only has an extensive understanding and knowledge of water chemistry, but he explains it in a way that almost anyone can understand. You can tell he is passionate about the subject. I must say he has a great voice for podcasts as well. I hope this show gains popularity and recognition because the folks over at Orenda truly do want what is best for your pool water. Their products are also bar none some of the best in the industry. I support Orenda and their mission and will continue to treat our pools with their products. Nobody asked me to leave a review here, but it is well deserved! Thank you Eric and the rest of the Orenda team!
It’s like ok the audio bothers me
I love Orenda!
I started using Orenda’s proactive pool care philosophy about 5 yrs ago. Heard about it from my pool guy. I’m a residential pool owner in New Jersey. I’d been taking care of our pool for 10 yrs before hearing about Orenda and the LSI. I’m not exaggerating when I say Orenda’s philosophy has changed EVERTHING. I used to dread taking that pool cover off in spring and doing reactive pool care all summer. I actually enjoy the pool now that I know how to proactively take care of it and give the water what it needs. I’m writing in response to your latest podcast with the Pool Chaser guys. I cannot agree more with one of the pool chaser guys who said that you should talk about your products more! Make no apologies for doing it. If somebody has a product that solves my problem, I want names, I want details!! I understand you not wanting the podcast to be one long commercial but I think you can find a balance between sounding like an infomercial (which I don’t think you ever have), and telling us about an Orenda product that might help with our problem. That’s my 2 cents. You’re doing a great job and filling a need in the pool world not only with Orenda products but with the education you make available. Thanks guys!
