    S6 Ep8: A Brief Wrap-Up and Thank You

    The 6th season of Any Other Anythings is all about celebrating Grey Box Collective's 10th season of making weird art about tough stuff.  In this episode, Molly, founder and creative producer of Gray Box Collective, thanks listeners for Season Six of the “any other anythings” podcast and explains that most of the season was recorded in October 2025, before spring plans were set. She shares that if the podcast is being heard upon release in April 2026, there is an event on April 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Phoenix Center for the Arts’ Third Street Theater to premiere their documentary film. She reflects on the group’s ambitious week in which they devised a show, filmed a documentary, and recorded a full podcast season, emphasizing the creation of artifacts and footage to support both the documentary and the podcast. She closes by expressing appreciation and inviting listeners to attend the show.     S6 Ep5: Trusting the Creative Process (while also adulting)

    The 6th season of Any Other Anythings is all about celebrating Grey Box Collective's 10th season of making weird art about tough stuff.  In this episode, the Finger Painting [for grown-ups] team recaps the past 48 hours of a rehearsal process leading up to a work-in-progress showing (WIPS) and an upcoming performance: they organized existing material into a linear order, worked out transitions, and ended a halfway point with a balloon moment, then began the next day with notes from Molly, refined earlier sections, and collaboratively devised the second half in reverse order. They discuss creative risk-taking, a brief panic about audience interaction and musical mechanisms, and the guiding phrase “human being to human doing.” They praise facilitator Shasana and describe an hour-long feedback circle where audience responses highlighted immigrant and Mexican American perspectives, emotional release through crying/laughter, and a sense of community.     S6 Ep4: A Funeral for Our Childhood and Other Creative Crumbs

    The 6th season of Any Other Anythings is all about celebrating Grey Box Collective's 10th season of making weird art about tough stuff.  In this episode, day three of rehearsal, Micah summarizes a challenging but fulfilling building-block day focused on creating the production’s framework by sticky-noting, mapping, and grouping “nuggets and crumbs” of themes into six key moments, then workshopping them with props, childhood energy, chord play, bubble play, and balloons. The team also deeply explored “rain cloud” glasses that cover the eyes, discussing their emotional resonance with the current state of the world, how they shift performance focus to the lower face, and a “cry-laughing” moment that blurs happiness and crisis. Other standout explorations included creating soundscapes with a tape recorder, a somber funeral procession, and bubble wrap jackets hanging like disembodied ghosts.     S6 Ep3: Beginning the Devising Process

    The 6th season of Any Other Anythings is all about celebrating Grey Box Collective's 10th season of making weird art about tough stuff.  In this episode, on day two of six rehearsals, Molly & the creatives generated material by starting with small movements and then layering props, intentions, text, and sound, sharing what resonated and building moments connected to the show’s topic. In the afternoon they interviewed with a film crew and independently created guided movement sequences that eventually combined into a unified “nugget,” while emphasizing separating form from content by exploring what objects, voice, and body can do before assigning meaning. Reflections highlight isolating and layering elements to shape narrative and emotional arc, using unison group movement and environmental sequencing, and developing a cord “vest” costume symbolizing constant connection under capitalism.     S6 Ep2: Critiquing Capitalism While Finger Painting

    The 6th season of Any Other Anythings is all about celebrating Grey Box Collective's 10th season of making weird art about tough stuff.  In this episode, Molly and the creatives of Finger Painting [for grown-ups] - Adam, Micah, Lauren, and Ashley - debrief after the first in-person rehearsal. The group recaps an in-person rehearsal day after previous Zoom meetings: they did costume fittings, briefly moved in the costumes, made artwork, and did grounding work to build a shared foundation through breath and movement vocabulary, including finger painting. While painting, they discussed hustle, capitalism, grind, and “escape,” comparing immigrant and class lenses, noting how grind can feel like an inescapable obligation, and reflecting on where stress is held in the body and represented in the artwork. The costume designer notes the contrast between free cotton understructures and constricting bubble-wrap jackets, plus evolving sound and movement possibilities.     S6 Ep1: Celebrating a Milestone with the Show that Started it all

    The 6th season of Any Other Anythings is all about celebrating Grey Box Collective's 10th season of making weird art about tough stuff.  In this episode, Molly (Grey Box Collective's Founder and Creative Producer) sets up expectations of the season, and introduces the performance creatives - Adam, Micah, Lauren, and Ashley. This episode was recorded in September 2025 during the final virtual rehearsal prior to going into in-person rehearsals. The creatives introduce themselves, then go on to discuss recurring themes (inner child, nostalgia, capitalism, adulthood maintenance vs play, care in process), and anticipation for in-person creation and connection.
