    S4 E9 - Generational Trauma - What Does It Actually Mean?

    The term generational trauma is everywhere right now. But what does it actually mean? In this episode, Kimberley explores how unresolved pain, beliefs, coping mechanisms, and patterns can move through families, often without anyone realizing it. She also looks at the language we use to describe difficult relationships....and why not every ex is a narcissist, every incident isn't generational trauma, or every imperfect relationship isn't toxic. Labels can sometimes help us understand our experiences, but when they are used too casually, they can oversimplify complicated people and prevent us from examining our own patterns. Understanding generational trauma is not about blaming our families or diagnosing everyone who has hurt us. It's about becoming curious about what shaped us, taking responsibility for what belongs to us, and choosing what we no longer want to carry.
