    In this episode of Sacred Axis, Christina and Chesten have their first special guest, Heather Hester. Heather is the author of Parenting with Pride and host of More Human, More Kind. As a speaker, author, coach, and LGBTQ+ advocate, Heather helps parents, allies, and organizations move from fear to fierce through informed love with clarity, compassion, and courage.     14. The Importance of Sense of Self, Self-Worth, & Self-Trust

    In this episode of Sacred Axis, Chesten and Christina delve into the concepts of sense of self, self-worth, and self-trust. They explore how these elements influence and are influenced by whether a person lives by their personal values, ethics, and morals or is at odds with them. They discuss ramifications if a person's lived life is incongruent with their values, ethics, and morals. They discuss how rigid communities can further create incongruencies by reducing an individual's sense of self-worth. This in turn can lead to poor self-trust and poor decision making. They talk about the importance of having self-compassion to build and strengthen self-worth. They discuss the need for discernment in relationships and societal interactions to determine which ones align with the individual's values, ethics, and morals and which are in conflict with them. Through personal anecdotes and reflections, they highlight the journey of discovering the self, ensuring one is living a life that matches their sense of self, and having self-worth, which all in turn allows for strengthening of self-trust.     12. Intuition vs Instinct vs Spiritual Psychosis

    In this conversation, Chesten and Christina delve into the intricate relationship between intuition and instinct, exploring how these concepts manifest in their lives. They discuss their very different experiences with listening and developing intuition. They include others definitions and experiences with intuition. They talk about how they navigate connecting with intuition and differentiating it from other "knowings"/"voices" within them. They speak about how intuition feels and where they experience the sensation at. They discuss the importance of questioning and mulling over intuitive information. A summary of their discussion on intuition starts around 30:15 minute mark. Chesten and Christina discuss instinct as a survival response that is built through inherited and individual experiences. They talk about how people can draw harmful and inaccurate conclusions from feelings and experiences that lead to maladaptive instinct. They also discuss how maladaptive instinct can lead to beliefs that are rooted in bigoted and prejudiced ideologies the person is convinced is "true." They talk about how instinct can be confused with intuition and one of the many reasons why it's so important to question, analyze, and mull over what may feel like an intuitive response to us.
