Reclamation | First Female Palm Beach & Women's Art Week 2026

In this episode of Sacred Work in Progress, host Bonnie Sorsby sits down with three of the women behind one of Palm Beach County's most exciting creative movements — First Female and its annual Women's Art Week. Joining the roundtable are Gaby Viteri, founder of First Female, ceramicist and Avenue Pottery founder Lani Goodrich, and multidisciplinary artist Hayley Sheldon. Together, they unpack the theme of this year's Women's Art Week — Reclamation — and what it means to reclaim creativity, childhood, materials, space, and joy. The conversation goes deep on the relationship between play and serious artistic practice, how running a creative business can pull you away from pure creation, the energetics of art-making and how it lands for viewers, and why community changes everything for women working in the creative world. You'll also get a peek inside the lineup of events happening March 6–15 across Palm Beach County — from an intimate six-woman show inside a church, to works-in-progress on display, to acoustic concerts and shamanic prayer experiences. If you've ever felt the pull between the business of making and the pure joy of it — this one's for you. 🔗 First Female: firstfemalepb.com | @firstfemalepb 🔗 Gaby Viteri: @gaby_viteri_ 🔗 Hayley Sheldon: hayleysheldon.com | @hayleysheldon 🔗 Lani Goodrich / Avenue Pottery: avenuepottery.com | @avenuepottery 🔗 Bonnie Sorsby: bonniesorsby.com | @bonniesorsbyart

Release the Pressure: Women, Venting & Building What’s Next with Jennifer Grove

This conversation surprised me. Jennifer and I didn’t come in with a tight plan. We just started talking — first about her work with women and anger, about how often we say “I’m fine” when we’re not, about how much emotion gets stored instead of moved. She calls herself a nervous system whisperer and a venting coach, which honestly makes so much sense once you hear her talk about it. We got into what it means to actually let something move through the body instead of just ruminating on it. The 90-second rule. Why suppressing anger doesn’t make it disappear. Why pressure builds. Then we shifted into building things as entrepreneurs. Beta offers. Refining containers. Launching imperfectly. Rewriting funnels. The uncomfortable parts of entrepreneurship no one is really talking about. It struck me while editing this that the thread was the same the whole time... Pressure builds in the body.Pressure builds in business. And if you don’t let it move, it turns into something else. This one felt honest. And so needed. Jennifer Grove works with women who are emotionally exhausted and ready to release what’s been building underneath the surface. Process Art Therapy for Self-Discovery | Creativity as a Path Back to the Heart (with Jenny Hahn + Stephanie Gray)

In this episode of Sacred Work in Progress, I’m joined by Jenny Hahn and Stephanie Gray — visual artists, writers, and creative transformation guides behind Creative Nectar Studio (where creativity meets consciousness). We unpack what process art actually is (and what it isn’t), how creating without pressure for a “good result” becomes a pathway back to heart wisdom, and why so many of us were conditioned to believe we’re “not creative.” We talk about letting intuition lead, how art can help transmute painful experiences into insight (yes… including an ex turning into a ridiculous frog 😅), and why doing this work in community is where the real magic happens. If you’ve been craving more play, more presence, and a way to come home to yourself — this one’s for you. Supporting a Parent With Dementia When You’re Living Apart with Laura Smothers-Chu

In this episode of Sacred Work in Progress, Bonnie is joined by dementia coach and advocate Laura Smothers-Chu, founder of Joy in Dementia. Laura specializes in helping adult children who are supporting a parent with dementia when they do not live in the same home. Laura’s dad was diagnosed with dementia when she was twenty-eight. Even working in healthcare, she could not find resources that spoke to her experience as a daughter living apart from her parents. Everything was geared toward the primary caregiver under the same roof. So she created what she needed and now guides other long distance caregivers through both the practical logistics and the emotional weight of this journey. We talk about: How Laura’s dad’s diagnosis led her to create Joy in Dementia What “long distance caregiver” really means beyond miles on a map The invisible guilt, grief, and helplessness adult children often carry Why long distance caregivers are actually uniquely positioned to help Practical ways to support your parents from afar without taking over The importance of planning: POA, wills, elder law attorneys and finances Staying present with your parent while still preparing for the future Finding moments of joy inside a dementia journey that is also deeply heavy How Laura weaves mindfulness, human design, and intuitive insight into her work Her free guide on dementia stages written specifically for long distance caregivers Connect with Laura Website: https://www.joyindementia.com/ Instagram / Social: @joy.in.dementia Free 20-minute consult for long distance caregivers: https://www.joyindementia.com/consults Learn more about Bonnie Website: https://bonniesorsby.com/about/ Instagram / Social: @bonniesorsbyart

Projector Energy, Leadership & Authentic Expression with Terri-Ann Richards

In this episode of Sacred Work in Progress, I’m joined by leadership expert Terri-Ann Richards for a real-time walk-through of my Expression Guide — a tool I created to help people understand how their authentic voice is meant to be expressed through astrology and human design. I’m Bonnie Sorsby — a multidisciplinary artist and brand strategist who brings together creative direction, intuitive insight, and grounded astrology to help people express who they truly are. Through art, design, and chart work, I support clients in finding a voice, visual identity, and way of showing up that actually feels good. Terri-Ann bravely volunteered to explore her own expression in this session, and what unfolded was a deeply resonant conversation about leadership, energy, timing, and the truth of finding your voice. Together, they explore: Why Terri-Ann’s voice lands as clear, precise, and practical (and how perfectionism tries to keep it quiet). How her nonlinear, intuitive inner world shapes the way she speaks, teaches, and leads. The role of Venus and Mars in the 11th house and why her work always circles back to community, spotlighting others, and serving the greater good. What it really means to be a Projector with a defined throat in human design — including timing, invitations, and why she can’t (and shouldn’t) work like her Generator friends. The “gates of expression” in her chart that speak to simplifying complex ideas, sharing lived experience, and waiting for the right emotional wave before she speaks. How burnout, boundaries, and delegation have reshaped the way she uses her voice and energy as a leader. If you’ve ever wondered “Why can’t I show up the way other entrepreneurs do?” or felt like your voice is “too much,” “too sensitive,” or “too different,” this conversation will feel like a permission slip to honor your own design. About Terri-Ann Richards Terri-Ann is the founder of Lighthouse Leaders Group, where she helps organizations and leaders build inner capacity — resilience, grit, and adaptability — through consulting, training, speaking, and writing. Her upcoming book, Becoming the Eight Percent, is all about rewiring your mind, rewriting your story, and rising anyway. Her upcoming TEDx talk on the belief gap and why so many people don’t pursue their potential because of fear of judgment and ridicule. Cyclical Living, Yoni Mapping, and Honoring the Female Body with Jules Alma

In this episode of Sacred Work in Progress, I’m joined by my sister-in-law, Julianna aka “Jules” —doula, menstruality guide, and the creator behind JULES ALMA, a space devoted to honest, deep, holistic insights on living a blissful life in a female body. Jules believes that women’s bodies are widely misunderstood and undernourished in our modern world, and she’s devoted her work to helping women reconnect to the wisdom we were never taught to honor. We talk about cyclical living, the emotional and physical power of our bleed, how to nourish ourselves through each phase of our cycle, and why living in tune with our hormones can bring more ease, clarity, and vitality into everyday life. She also shares about Yoni mapping—what it is, how it works, and why this long-forgotten practice can be so transformative for emotional release, pelvic health, and deep reconnection with the most innervated part of our bodies. If you’ve ever felt like you “should” know more about your cycle, or you’ve been craving a more grounded, holistic approach to women’s health, this conversation will feel like sitting with a warm cup of tea and finally getting the education you always needed.
