    SAFE HARBOR CONVERSATIONS—ENGAGING HEART, MIND AND SOUL….TODAY WE TALK ABOUT CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM. OUR CONVERSATIONALISTS ARE Rev Eugenia Gamble, author, lecturer, pastor Dr. Garrett Andrew, author, pastor Wink Farrand, life coach, pastor, social media shepherd Tom Cochrun, writer, analyst, journalist Presbyterian Elder WE ARE SEEING A KIND OF CHRISTIANITY THAT BEARS LITTLE RESEMBLANCE TO THE TEACHING AND LIFE OF JESUS. WE ARE WATCHING AS THIS MOVEMENT MERGES INCREASINGLY INTO POLITICS—AND INTO WHAT IS CALLED THE CULTURE WAR IT IS CALLED CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM. IT IS THE BELIEF THAT AMERICA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION-AND SHOULD BE GOVERNED AS SUCH THAT SOUNDS LIKE A THEOCRACY-A GOVERNMENT THAT THINKS (())IT IS DIVINELY ORDAINED—WHERE A DIETY IS THE SUPREME RULER THE ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO CHRISTIAN NATIONALISTS ARE: —IMMIGRATION —FREEDOM TO BEAR ARMS ---GENDER ROLES AND SEXUALITY —THE BANNING OF BOOKS ---CONTROLLING EDUCATIONAL CURRICULA —INCLUDING HISTORY —THEY SAY THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE IS A MYTH CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM DRAWS ITS POWER FROM THOSE WHO ADVOCATE BIBLICAL LITERALISM, FUNDAMENTALISTS, CHRISTIAN INDENTITY MOVEMENT, WHITE SUPREMISTS, AND THE NEWER ITERATION, CHRISTIAN TRUMPISM. THEOLOGIAN MICHAEL HORTON SAYS, "CHRISTIAN TRUMPISM REPRESENTS THE CONFLUENCE OF THREE TRENDS…AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, END-TIMES CONSPIRACY, AND THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL." HORTON SAYS IT BLENDS THESE WITH A GENEROUS DOSE OF HUCKSTERISM, SELF-PROMOTION, AND PERSONALITY CULT.
