    In this episode of Sailor Moon’s Cosmic Power Rewind, we’re diving into Sailor Moon R 2x17, “Women Must Be Strong and Beautiful: Rei’s New Special Technique,” where Rei finally gets a major power-up while Grandpa’s ridiculous self-defense class somehow turns into the center of another Dark Kingdom-style disaster. Between Chibiusa trying to toughen up, Koan corrupting the shrine’s training hall, and Grandpa earning plenty of eye-rolls along the way, this Sailor Moon R episode is goofy, chaotic, and honestly pretty fun. Honestly, we loved getting an Ami-focused story again. It’s light and sweet on the surface (ice cream shop antics, Chibiusa doing Chibiusa things), but it’s also quietly emotional because Ami is staring down a real choice: chase an amazing future in Germany, or stay with the friends who’ve become her team and her safe place. We talk about how the episode handles that push and pull, why Ami’s decision hits even if you’re side-eyeing the “give up your dream” angle a little, and how Usagi’s fear of being left behind makes the whole thing feel extra human.     This week on our Sailor Moon rewatch podcast, we’re talking about “After School Trouble: Usagi is a Target,” a weirdly funny and surprising Sailor Moon Season 2 episode that puts Usagi and Natsumi on a collision course. Between Miss Haruna’s chaotic detention, the ridiculously competitive “who gets Mamoru” challenge, and Natsumi literally running on empty, this one has that classic mix of comedy, jealousy, and danger that makes the Makaiju arc so fascinating to revisit.
