    We wish all of the listeners of the Sales Magic Podcast a wonderful summer season! While Jackie takes some time to enjoy the summer also, we are replaying some of her favorite episodes. In this episode, Jackie talks with Shachella James, Vice President of Infrastructure Ops and Technology Services at CenterPoint Energy. In this role, Shachella leads infrastructure, transport, telecommunications, data center and technology system control center operations. In addition, she supports Information Technology operations for CenterPoint Energy’s competitive businesses.  She is a transformational leader focused on the human and financial implications and enterprise impacts of agile, digital and cloud strategies. Shachella is also an executive sponsor of the Cultural Niketan of India, a CenterPoint Energy Employee Resource Group. Outside of work, Shachella is active in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a volunteer with the youth ministry at her church. As an executive board member for both Child Advocates and Genesys Works Houston, she advocates for under-resourced communities and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. Shachella earned her bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Texas A&M University and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a certified technology professional through the PMI and earned her Cyber Security certificate from Cornell University. Shachella is a graduate of Leadership Houston and the American Leadership Forum.  She is an award-winning technology leader as a Top 50 Multicultural Leader in Tech, Woman Who Means Business and a Houston CIO ORBIE Leadership award recipient. (Wow, Shachella!) Jackie and Shachella are friends, and they are both wellness enthusiasts. They are also both champions for women and girls. Listen as they discuss the importance of transformation during difficult times, reminding us that the road is not always smooth and easy. While slow and steady may often win the race, Shachella states that sometimes you have to go faster to see the change you are striving for. In business dealings, Shachella finds magic in space and trust. Her growing edge is fostering a mentality of grit and grace.

    In this episode, Jackie talks with Chris Rasberry, Director of the Install Base Sales Experience & Platform team within Global Sales at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).  In this role, he leads a team that delivers the data and CRM tool capabilities that help drive account activation for technology refresh, services contract renewals, and GreenLake consumption for Sellers and channel Partners at HPE. Prior to joining HPE seven years ago, Chris spent 17 years in the Capital Markets industry working both in the US and Japan, serving in a variety of operations, human resources, and sales positions. He is also a military veteran having served in the United States Navy from 1993 to 1997. (Thank you for your service, Chris!) Chris is currently in the early stages of earning a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Dallas.  He holds an MBA from the Fox School of Business at Temple University and a BA in International Business & Economics from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.  He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in AI for Leaders from the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).   Jackie and Chris are both committed learners. They met during a workshop, and their common trait of curiosity has kept them connected over the years. Listen as they discuss the challenges created by the explosion of sales data that sellers rely on…so much so that some data is ‘stranded’ and not readily available for clients. Chris also describes the need to transition to ‘as a service’ solutions, while managing the pivot in a way that the current business model remains viable and business opportunities are not missed. A Hoosier by heart and by choice, Katie has built a deep network in the place she has always called home. Utilizing a background in political science and experience in Washington D.C., as a former congressional intern, Katie applies what she learned to educate and build relationships with her clients and the community. She is also a distinguished Orr Fellow. Katie was drawn to this podcast as she admired Jackie as a woman business leader who also gives back to the community. Additionally, Kim is the director of Talent and Organizational Development for Harris Health. She also received the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association of Top Professionals and was named One of Houston’s Most Influential Women for 2022. Kim’s passion is helping others live their best professional lives. Jackie and Kim have worked together, and they are also friends. Listen as they discuss Kim’s most recent book, Recruit, Retain & Reimagine Today’s Foodservice Workforce. The foodservice industry was hit hard by the pandemic. Kim’s book explores the challenges of post covid transformation, primarily linked to staffing and attracting Next Gen talent…business issues that many companies and industries are facing. Kim’s book was, in part, an effort to give back to an industry that has played such a large part of her career success. Along with the book, comes the sage wisdom to trust the process of transformation.
