Episode 24: Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor

Peripheral Nerves are vital to the function of the human body. Nerves and the sheath that lines them can become neoplastic leading to the formation of tumors. In the previous episode we discussed the benign tumors that arise from peripheral nerves, this episode will focus on the malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST). These tumors are associated with a high local recurrence rate and can be problematic to treat. We discuss the diagnosis, management and treatment of MPNST.

AKHRichmond ,

Thank you

As a 2x survivor of Cancer (Breast Cancer in 2020, and Chondrosarcoma of the femur 2022) I appreciate all of this. Both the medical and survivor stories. Most especially, I appreciate the discussions regarding the mental and emotional impacts of Cancer & treatment - and the need for even more emphasis on this part of the situation.

Synovial sarcoma

Recent synovial sarcoma diagnosed (~3 months ago): entering second round of chemo. Chemo is going better than anticipated so that’s encouraging. I’d like more info on synovial types - you focused on bone types, I see. Do you plan a podcast about this soon?

Thanks
