In this episode of Saved, I’m diving into one of the biggest things I’ve had to relearn since leaving New Age spirituality and becoming a Christian: how to be with my emotions, thoughts, feelings, and desires in a biblical way. For years, I was taught to trust my intuition, follow my heart, honor my feelings, do what feels aligned, and create the reality I wanted. But Christianity has completely challenged the idea that my inner world should be my ultimate authority. The answer isn't to suppress our emotions—but it also isn't to worship them. 6. What Does It Mean To Be "Saved"? Having New Life In Christ

What Does It Mean to Be Saved? | Salvation, Sin, Grace & New Life in Christ What does it actually mean when Christians say, “Jesus saves”? Saved from what? Why do we need salvation? And what does it actually mean to be saved through Jesus Christ? These are questions I honestly had before I became a Christian. I remember hearing Christians say things like “Jesus saves” or “Jesus wants to save you,” and thinking, “But save me from what?” I didn't understand what it meant. There was no context, no framework, and honestly, the phrase felt confusing and even a little off-putting to me. So in this episode, I want to break down what the Bible actually says about salvation—and keep it as simple and biblical as possible. We’re going all the way back to the beginning to understand why we need saving in the first place, what sin actually is, what it means to be spiritually dead, why Jesus had to die, and what His death and resurrection accomplished for us. I talk about: • Why humanity needs salvation• What sin actually means according to Scripture• The reality of spiritual death and separation from God• Why I cannot save myself through being “good enough”• Why Jesus had to die on the cross• How Jesus took the penalty we deserved• What it means to be saved by grace through faith• What it means to become a child of God• The role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer• Why Christians still struggle with sin• What repentance actually means• The difference between conviction and condemnation• What it means to become a new creation in Christ• Why salvation is about more than simply “going to heaven”• How being saved actually changes the way we live• My experience of leaving New Age spirituality and following Jesus• Learning to trust God's Word instead of being led by my feelings• Surrendering my plans to God and learning to trust His will Romans 5:12 — Sin and death entered the world through Adam. Ephesians 2:8–9 — We are saved by grace through faith, not by our own works. John 1:12 — Those who receive Christ become children of God. Romans 8:15 — Believers receive the Spirit of adoption. 2 Corinthians 5:17 — In Christ, we become a new creation. Romans 8:1 — There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Colossians 3:1–3 — Those who have been raised with Christ are called to seek the things above. Philippians 3:20 — Our citizenship is in heaven. John 3:16 — God gave His Son so that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life. Salvation isn't about becoming a good enough person, cleaning yourself up, or earning your way to God. It starts with recognizing that I cannot save myself. Jesus lived the perfect life I could never live, died for my sins, and rose again. Through faith in Him, I receive forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and new life. And being saved doesn't mean I become perfect overnight. It means I now belong to Christ—and the Holy Spirit begins transforming me from the inside out. I don't clean myself up and then come to Jesus. I come to Jesus, and He begins the work of transforming me. Whether you're already a Christian, curious about Jesus, exploring Christianity, leaving New Age spirituality, or simply trying to understand what Christians actually mean when they talk about salvation, I hope this episode gives you a clearer biblical framework for what it means to be saved. What does it mean when I feel drawn to Jesus—but something in me resists fully saying yes? 1. New Age Deceived Me & Why I Chose to Follow Christ.

This episode is a quiet beginning. In this first conversation, I share my personal journey of being drawn out of New Age spirituality and into a living, relational faith with Jesus Christ—not through pressure, performance, or fear, but through grace that met me exactly where I was. This isn’t a how-to, a debate, or a call to “do more.” It’s a testimony. A slow unfolding of questions I carried, resistance I felt, misconceptions I believed, and the moments where the Word of God began to come alive—not as information, but as breath. The Bible speaks of the breath of God giving life to dry bones. In the same way, this episode reflects on how even the smallest embers of grace within us—curiosity, longing, doubt, hunger—can be stirred into living fire when met with truth. Wherever you find yourself on your journey—skeptical, searching, returning, or simply listening—you are welcome here. You don’t need to have it figured out. You don’t need the right language.
