Scar Stories: Kirsten Panachyda (Parenting Kids with Mental Illness)
Kirsten is the author of "Among Lions", a book for parents who are loving on kids who are battling mental illness. Her son battled disordered eating, self harm, and suicidal thoughts seemingly out of nowhere for several years. I so enjoyed our honest, emotional conversation. Check out her website at kirstenp.com and get her book, "Among Lions".

Amazing podcast
The consistency of great guests and content is incredible. This podcast deals with so many issues from so many different perspectives that you don’t hear a lot. Nicole is also a gifted interviewer.
True Ministry
It’s been a joy watching Nicole Golden step into creating a ministry focused on mental health. She’s a force to be reckoned with. Her guests are thoughtfully chosen and the conversations are powerful. I always leave with some nugget of truth to carry with me as I move through my own journey with mental illness.
If you have ever dealt with mental illness, or care about someone who does, Nicole’s podcast shares so many truths and “behind the scenes” aspects of the struggle.
Incisive and relatable
This podcast is so important—Jesus cares about your mental health, and though it often seems like the church at large doesn’t, it should. I’d recommend this podcast especially to people who grew up or are in fundamental religions, but everyone can benefit and learn from it.
