This Simple Strategy Might Be the Key to Advancing Science Faster

Science is an iterative process. Progress comes from people coming up with ideas that are sort of right and then new evidence and ideas coming in to update them to become even more correct. Underlying this process is a willingness by scientists to accept that they might be wrong and be open to updating their ideas. It turns out that social scientists have a term for this mindset. Enter Uncertain, a new limited podcast series from Scientific American. In this series, host Christie Aschwanden will help to demystify uncertainty. I love a good science podcast. I’m happy to discover a new science podcast. But I was looking forward to working my way through the archive of Science Talk. I do not appreciate having Science Talk replaced with the new Scientific American podcast. I do not care if I’m 15 years behind on the podcast. I like having 400 episodes to catch up on.

another unhappy Bose dude

So disappointing that this science institution takes “the narrative” over really considering all the alternative scientific evidence that disagrees with it, as well as the evidence to quiet the voices of differing views. I love science and I’m a very scientific type of person, but they consistently push ideology as does the rest of mainstream media. They have lost my trust. :-(
