    With a decorated career in Commercial Radio, Ian Skippen has had a life surrounded by music. As an Uncle of mine (who always was King of Dad-jokes) I always felt he would be one to really enjoy doing a Scotch Session of his ten most memorable songs of his life. It’s a rare candid glimpse into the other side of a man who rarely had control of the playlist at work, yet appreciates a wide variety of styles and a fine dram at the same time.     Scotch Session Of Eighties Soundtracks and Movie Themes – Part 1

    Recorded across some dodgy communication lines between Copenhagen and Sydney in 2017, Stuart Cox and Peter Curtis had been talking this session up for some time, as the eighties represents the glory of our childhood. The bigger question which songs to choose? Get your leg warmers out, crimp your hair and put on a fluoro puffer vest as Scotch Sessions takes you back to the eighties in style with ballads, synths and cheese.     Scotch Session of Dylan Farrell

    Some people are loud. Some people have opinions. Some are simply from Long Island. This one guy called Dylan is a music boffin who I am glad has joined my group of friends to add a bit of colour and the best mane of grey hair one has seen. A former frontman himself of bands that probably offended and pushed the envelope, Dylan Farrell is a passionate and eclectic connoisseur of music. This is at odds with our guest co-host Joel Maloney who likes 4/4 beats with lyrics probably written by Pit Bull.   This was the first session in absence of Pete and let’s just say things went a little off track. Apologies to all people of ethnic minorities, my Mum and any artists who regarded their work in the nineties as a work of art.     Scotchless Gothenburg Session

    Twas very wet for our second session of the Way Out West 2016 excursion and due to the restrictions around getting alcohol in Sweden, we failed to get Scotch. Never mind, since we had other supplies and always plenty more tunes to share. Strap yourself in as the dribbling duo do their best to keep the weather demons at bay.     Snakes and Ladders Session – 13

    Formerly known as session 13, ’twas the year 2013 and Pete decided to commence proceedings with Patron Tequila while Stuart claims to have the best five tracks of the year following the Strugglers AGM. Listen out for the falling chairs, the dropped glasses and general looseness that insued in one of the all-time great sessions. We really don’t know how this even got finished and how to really categorise it. Electronic belters start things and shots disperse the Scotch in what is a truly grand session. Saddle up. Even Juzzy drops in at the end for Pete to discuss the old junior soccer team line-up!     The Scotch Session of Stuart Cox

    It is here, the Big Daddy,  the Grand Poobah, the songs that shaped the life of a manchild from Brisvegas called Stuart Cox. Hosted by Pete Curtis in Gothenburg on the weekend of Way Out West festival, expect an in-depth exploration of genres and scotch flavoured banter. From the suburbs of North Brisbane to the chilly waters of the Outer Hebrides, let yourself be taken far and wide by the Coxinator. Plenty of family and friends play part so listen out for the name drops! Lagavulin 16 year was the duty-free tipple of choice and one litre almost got us there.     From the Vault – Session 12 Darkness

    This twelfth Scotch Session was long lost and only created from metadata hacked off the governement’s spying computers with the help of Ed Snowden. With Pete still firmly in married mode and the Coxinator sacrificing major social time to get to the Bronte pad they imbibe the fine Bowmore smoky goodness and Glenfiddich 18 year. Pete goes more rock in the music department while Stuart goes folder digging to find some classic and underrated gems. Studio calamity ensues.
