    41. How to Actually Find Time for What Matters, with Blessing Allen-Adebayo

    41. How to Actually Find Time for What Matters, with Blessing Allen-Adebayo

Can you have it all? Blessing-Allen Adebayo, an International Development Leader, says yes! Listen to how this busy mom, leader and climate advocate found work-life balance (and stopped crying in the bathroom!).

We start the conversation in the moment a few months after Blessings' twins were born: Blessing crying in the bathroom of her office. This was the moment when she realized that she needs to do something differently to find time for herself, her twins and her husband, while focusing on work and her projects.

We chat about how she started redefining what success means for her in that moment of her life and dive deeper why having our own definition of achievement and
success is essential. We talk about the logistics of fitting all the things into our real 24-hour long days.

We delve into the importance of setting goals, managing your time and prioritizing certain things for the time being. Blessing shares her decision to pause with her PhD for the time being when her twins were small, while being able to ask for help. We talk about that nothing lasts forever and that the time we have (or don’t have) also changes.

All of us having feet in different countries, we talk about the extra complexity of living in a different country, or even on different continent. Blessing shares her thoughts on living in Nigeria and UK, wrapping up our conversation by the importance of creating the space for taking care of our planet in our daily lives.

    40. Overcoming Fear: How to Make Big Decisions Despite the Unknowns and What-ifs

    40. Overcoming Fear: How to Make Big Decisions Despite the Unknowns and What-ifs

Are you stuck in a decision that has been dragging on for days, weeks, months, or even years? Are you paralyzed by the uncertainty of each option's outcome and overwhelmed by the "what-ifs" in your mind?

In this episode, I dive deep into the process of making tough decisions and share my recent experience of quitting Instagram, despite the fear and uncertainty that accompanied it.

For years, I had a love-hate relationship with Instagram. I spent countless hours creating content, posting consistently, and even hiring help for strategy and reels, only to see minimal results. I couldn’t believe that I started
considering quitting the platform. But how could I abandon something I had invested so much time and effort into? The decision felt huge, and I found myself stuck in doubt and fear of the unknown.

I realized that many of us face similar dilemmas, whether it's about leaving a job, ending a relationship, or moving to a new city. The fear of unknown outcomes and the possibility of giving up too early can be overwhelming. I share what helped me to take that decision.

I talk about the practical steps I took and tools that helped me make my decision, including journaling, seeking advice from trusted friends, and visualizing my future self. Tune in to this episode to learn how you can overcome your fears, make the hard decisions, and start living your ideal life now. Pop in those headphones and choose to Screw Being Unhappy, even if it's one tiny step a day!

    39. Improve Your Public Speaking, One Stranger a Day, with Adriana Baer

    39. Improve Your Public Speaking, One Stranger a Day, with Adriana Baer

Are you one of the people for whom public speaking is scarier than death? Do you want to get better at speaking so you can push your ideas at work or communicate
better? You're in good company - today, I'm speaking with Adriana Baer, a NYC theatre director and public speaking coach.

Adriana starts by sharing her definition of public speaking that'll put in perspective why we shouldn’t avoid it: any situation we speak to one or more people we don’t
know that well (or at all!) can be considered public speaking. Public speaking is not only going up the TED stage or presenting to hundreds of people, but it's
    something we do daily.

We chat about the tiniest daily actions each of us can take to get better at speaking – talking to strangers, recording stories or setting limitations on how long we'll
be recording that 5-minute video. These baby steps will show us that we are safe in public speaking and can do it. We also chat about how potential negative reactions can be a good thing if we approach it with the right state
    of mind.

We dig deeper into different strategies how to tackle our fear of public speaking and what to focus on. Adriana shares her #1 most important step when starting, one
thing all successful speakers do and we chat about the importance of practice.

I share what helped me during my TEDx talk and a bit about my journey from being terrified of speaking in front of the camera to having an amazing time on the TEDx stage.

If you want to get better at public speaking, get some concrete actions and hacks, or get inspired by a fun, yet inspiring conversation, pop in those headphones, listen to this episode and choose to get stuff done and Screw Being Unhappy, even if it is one tiny step a day!

    37. See The Positive in Your Life, with Ally Murphy

    37. See The Positive in Your Life, with Ally Murphy

If you’ve been struggling to see the positive in your life
or your current situation, this episode is for you. If you want to get a smile on your face and get inspired, it's for you too.

Today, I'm chatting with Ally Murphy, a voiceover artist and ex-flight attendant who decided to start sharing
the extraordinary true stories of flight attendants and their passengers.

At the beginning of the episode, I surprised Ally by asking
her to share one of her stories that influenced where she’s today. Ally shares a very personal story that evolved when her then-fiancé declined a short trip to Vancouver on a flight that Ally was serving as a cabin crew. Ally takes us to the top of the mountain, somewhere near Vancouver, and lets us experience a moment during a lumberjack show that stopped Ally’s world for a second and inevitably led to big changes in her life resulting in the life she lives today.

This story powerfully illustrates that we never know what
any given moment, situation or person we meet can lead to. We continue chatting about this willingness to be open to opportunities, or randomness, and creating
the mindset of believing that whatever happens can lead to something that will be part of our life’s perfectly written novel.

We dig deeper into why this perspective is more empowering and beneficial, sharing some more personal examples. If you want to get inspired by a fun, yet inspiring conversation and an intimate story about life's serendipity, pop in those headphones, listen to this episode and choose to Screw Being Unhappy, even if it is one tiny step a day!
