Discussing Zoe Kravitz & Channing Tatum, Depravity, Mr. Crocket, and Wolfs

Send us a text Hey, scripties! We’re kicking off this episode with the latest Hollywood tea, discussing recent breakups and makeups. Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum have called off their engagement right after their movie Don’t Blink dropped and became a hit. Meanwhile, Shaun White and a Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev have taken the plunge and gotten engaged—catch our take on that! In our viewers recommended watch segment, we’re diving into Depravity, available for rent on Apple TV or Prime. This thriller follows a group of kids who suspect their neighbor is a murderer, leading them into a deadly mystery. We chat about Victoria Justice’s big step from Nickelodeon to a darker role, Dermot Mulroney’s surprising near-silent performance, and who we thought was guilty in this wild, twisty story.  Next, we talk about Mr. Crockett on Hulu, where a mother must rescue her son from a demonic children’s show host who’s kidnapping kids. We dig into character differences by age, how an older kid tries to confront Mr. Crockett, and whether our childhood selves would’ve been his targets. Plus, we touch on the film’s budget and whether we’d watch it again.  Lastly, we look at Wolves on Apple TV, a thriller with Brad Pitt and George Clooney as aging but still suave assassins. They’re hired to “clean up” a job gone wrong but discover the boy they thought was dead is alive—and on the run. We discuss the action, Clooney and Pitt’s timeless looks, and whether we see a sequel in the future. And don’t miss next week’s watchlist: Brothers on Prime, Grotesquerie season one, episodes 6-10 on Hulu, and Vim season 2 on Prime. See you then, scripties!

Just like season 1, this show keeps our jaws hitting the floor with every twist. We chat about Lucy, Brie, and Pippa, each navigating their own chaotic journeys—and the MVP of it all? Diana, who’s got manipulation down to an art form. We also dig into teacher-student relationships, open marriages, and why Tell Me Lies is a must-watch prerequisite for any high school grad heading off to college. Plus, fingers crossed we won’t be waiting forever for season 3!  Next, we take a swing at the second half of Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist on Peacock, episodes 5 through 10. As Chicken Man flees both the Black Mafia and the police, we’re in for twists that make this heist series worth every minute. We speculate on whether Terrence Howard’s truly retired and discuss Kevin Hart’s incredible performance—some of his best work yet.  For our viewers recommended watch, we’re diving into Martin Scorsese’s Casino, where Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Sharon Stone, and James Woods bring Las Vegas’ high-stakes world to life. We break down Ace’s downfall and the role Ginger plays in it, exploring how trust, betrayal, and the lure of money shape these unforgettable characters. Fresh off his breakout role in Rebel Ridge, we gush over his incredible journey from Foe to portraying Malcolm X and now stepping into the superhero world.  Next, we break down the intense second half of Bad Monkey (Season 1, Episodes 6-10) on Apple TV. Do Evie and Chris get away with their schemes? And that shocking final scene—Evie’s fate, Chris’s grim discovery, and the complex question of whether Gracie’s death was fair punishment or coincidence. We debate Rosa’s decision to end things with Yancy and speculate on the possibility of a season two.  In our Viewers Recommended Watch segment, we unravel Grotesquerie (Season 1, Episodes 1-5) on Hulu. From Niecy Nash and Courtney B. Vance to a surprising pop-in from Travis Kelsey, this detective-nun duo investigates some dark, personal crimes, while grappling with their own inner demons. Discussing AI Jury, Challengers, Bad Monkey, and Lady in the Lake

Send us a text Hey scripties, we’re back with another packed episode! This week, we dive into a fascinating new movie in production across Spain and Portugal that explores the concept of artificial justice. The big question: would you rather be judged by humans or an AI jury in a court case? We break down the pros, cons, and potential biases of AI in the justice system, and debate where things could go wrong.  We start off with our viewers/listeners recommended watch Challengers, starring Zendaya as Tashi, a former tennis star turned coach. Tension brews as her husband faces off against his former best friend—and her ex—in a high-stakes tennis match. Can you ever fully let go of past romances? And how far will you go to win, whether in love or on the court?  For our first Plot and Pop pick, we’re covering Bad Monkey. Vince Vaughn is stellar as Andrew Yancey, a detective who’s too dedicated to justice for his own good. We follow his journey from Miami to the Bahamas as he goes head-to-head with a corrupt developer trying to seize local land. Along the way, we dive into his romance with Rosa, a coroner, as they fight to expose the villainous Christopher/Nick before it's too late.  Next up, we tackle Lady in the Lake. Cleo, a powerful Black woman fighting for her family, and Maddie, a manipulative and prejudiced journalist, show us two sides of the same coin. We explore race, privilege, and manipulation, unraveling Maddie’s dangerous ambitions and the tragic mystery of who killed Cleo. The lines Maddie is willing to cross for a story will leave you questioning everything. Tune in for all the tea, scripties! As always thank you so much for tuning in! Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe, and tell us what to watch next!
