I was born and raised in the Mekane Yesus Church. Apart from Luther’s catechism for confirmation, I did not know much about our liturgy or doctrine. After I started reading the Bible more thoroughly, I began to appreciate parts of our liturgy that are directly from the Bible, such as confession and absolution, Kyrie, offertory, Sanctus, Agnus Dei, and Benediction. I didn't understand what “Peace be with you!” and “Depart in peace” meant until I learned about these phrases, which are at the heart of our worship, and much more from this podcast. The short 10-minute episode on “Peace be with you” is my favorite. I recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to learn about the Law and the Gospel, the promise of forgiveness, and salvation in Christ from Scripture alone. “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV Your labor in the Lord is not in vain!
