We explore people, incidents, lessons learned, best practices, and emerging issues involving communication and collaboration that affect security in mass-people environments and critical infrastructure. Working with the INTERPORTPOLICE, our primary focus is preventive security—identifying risks, vulnerabilities, behaviors, and operational gaps before they develop into incidents. From there, we examine the broader security continuum of prevention, protection, preparedness, response, and, where appropriate, pursuit, with particular attention to how agencies, authorities, public safety personnel, and security partners communicate and work together. Our objective is practical: to share experience, strengthen situational awareness, improve collaboration, and turn lessons learned into better security practices.
