There are thousands of cases that are unsolved in the State of Florida. In Lee County we take these cases very seriously. Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno has launched this Podcast to give you the listener an inside look at some of Lee County Florida's Cold Cases. Inside these stories you will hear witness statements from the time of the crime, original 911 calls and never heard before interviews with some of the detectives that worked these cases.     Homicide 84-042910 Chambers, James Weston

    Homicide 20-345512 Johnny Jackson

    In the sultry summer heat of July 15, 2020, the vibrant Lani Kai Resort on Fort Myers Beach pulses with life—palm trees swaying, neon lights glowing, and the salty air thick with music and tropical cocktails. But in a flash, gunshots shatter the night, claiming the life of 22-year-old Johnny Jackson, a beloved son, brother, and Dunbar High School athlete from a family of six, while wounding two others.     Homicide 16-534348 Marcus Hood

    In the early morning hours  of November  26, 2016, A holiday day night out with friends turned deadly after leaving the Gulf Coast Town Center.  Just after 2am witnesses around the area heard multiple gun shots ring out into the night. The targeted attack left 28 year old Marcus Hood dead from multiple gun shot wounds.  There were two other men who were with Marcus Hood that night who were also shot and needed medical treatment.   4. 05/13/2025

    Homicide 18-471987 Javarcia Riggins and Kevin Robinson

    On the evening of October 9, 2018, a family gathering at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers turned into a scene of chaos and tragedy. As relatives exited TGI Friday’s after celebrating a birthday dinner, a gunman armed with what witnesses described as an assault-style rifle opened fire in the parking lot. The targeted attack left two men dead — 56-year-old Kevin Robinson and 22-year-old Javarcia Riggins — and seriously wounded a 25-year-old female.  Surveillance footage, witness accounts, and over 50 spent shell casings collected at the scene pointed to a calculated ambush. A dark Chrysler 300 was seen speeding away toward Daniels Parkway, and despite a massive law enforcement response and a flood of interviews, the shooter remains unidentified.     Homicide 18-045772 Javaris Wilson

    On January 28, 2018, the Lee County Sheriff’s responded to a report of a just occurred shooting in Lehigh Acres, Florida.  Upon arrival on scene, deputies discovered 21-year-old Javaris Wilson shot to death in the doorway of his family’s home. Further investigation Javaris was ambushed when he opened his front door.   Javris was on the couch with his fiancé and friend moments before the shooting when he got a call, went to the door, and was shot and killed.     Homicide 17-570483 -Eric Young and Samuel Jones

    In 2017, the Lee County Sheriff’s responded to a report of a just occurred shooting in Lehigh Acres, Florida.  Upon arrival on scene, deputies discovered 22 year old Samuel Jones and 18  year old Eric Young both shot while playing video games with friends. Further investigation revealed they were victims of a targeted shooting in the late hours of the night.     Both of these young men were victims of this homicide with so many others in the residence.     Homicide 17-274549 Patterson and Gracia

    On June 20, 2017 the Lee County Sheriff’s responded to a report of two deceased individuals in a house on 3rd StreetWest in Lehigh Acres Florida. Upon arrival deputies would discover 22 year old Brian Keith Patterson Jr. and 27 year old Shantrese Gracia shot to death inside Brian’s home.  Brian Patterson Sr. discovered the bodies when he went to the home to let the dogs out.    Shantrese was a daughter, sister, and single mother, Brian was an inspiring musician.     Homicide 96-046691 - Steven Zinzow

    On March 23, 1996, the Lee County Sheriff’s responded to a report of a shooting in San Carlos Park, Florida.  Upon arrival on scene, deputies discovered 28 year old Steven Zinzow with one fatal gun shot to the chest in front of his girlfriend’s home.
