    290. From Cults to Coaching: Mindset Work as a Weapon & What to Do Instead

Because now I have a very special gift of being highly allergic to high control environments. I have a heightened sense of sniffing out anything that reeks of the psychological warfare that makes us stop trusting ourselves and learn helplessness. In this episode, I talk about how those same dynamics can show up in the coaching and self-improvement world, especially through the misuse of "mindset work." Mindset work can be powerful. It helped me realize my thoughts weren’t happening to me, and that I could unsubscribe from beliefs that no longer served me. But when a good tool is rooted in fear, shame, or avoidance of pain, it can easily become a weapon.     283. Winter Reinvention & Recreation Instead of Unnatural New Year's Resolutions

    Winter is not the time for New Year's Resolutions—if that looks like taking action right now because we're "supposed to" even though we don't have the energy for it. Statistics prove that Winter is not a Natural time to take massive action—23% of people give up on their resolutions within the first week and 88% by the second week. Winter is, however, a very Natural time to attune to what Love is asking of you, to nourish yourself and let it root down into you, and to let your energy pool inside of you as it will naturally pick back up with the returning Light over the next 6 weeks.
