Self-Identities Podcast

I found this podcast via Julian Morgan’s What It Was Like podcast and I cannot stop listening to these women’s stories! I love that you are giving these women a platform to share their stories and their journeys. It is so humbling and satisfying to see ‘criminals’ as a fellow human, another sister. I do agree with the fact that not sharing the crime and how these women came to be in prison is not proving the listener with the full story and for me, it makes me miss a whole connection to the person. The story of the crime isn’t necessary, because this is about the woman, but knowing what it is, is very important to me as a listener, even if it’s at the very end of the episode or not shared by the woman - it is an important sentence to be included! All in all, I love this channel and am giving it a follow! Thank you for sharing.

This series could have been great. Without letting the listener know what the crime was and how the inmate came to be in prison limits our connection and understanding of the rest of the story. I get why you are trying to change the narrative but this info is vital to understanding what the inmates have been through. I’m quitting on episode 3 as it’s now clear you did not change and include the relevant info. This does not belong in true crime.
