Noun + 이나 (Choices or Alternatives) Use this to offer one or more options. Conjugation rules: • If the verb ends in a consonant → -을게요 • If it ends in a vowel → -ㄹ게요 Examples: • 생일에 무엇을 선물로 좋아할까요? (I can't eat spicy food well.) → 옷이나 액세서리를 받고 싶어요. (I want to receive clothes or accessories.) • 라민 씨, 토요일이나 일요일에 시간 있어요? 같이 영화 봐요. (Ramin, are you free on Saturday or Sunday? Let’s watch a movie together!) • 저는 버스나 지하철을 타고 회사에 가요. (I take the bus or subway to work.) 2. Verb + 아/어 보다 (Trying Something) This pattern is used when trying something out for the first time or suggesting someone try it. Conjugation Rules: · If the verb stem ends in ㅏ, ㅗ → -아 보다 · Otherwise → -어 보다 Examples: • 제주도 가 봤어요? (Have you been to Jeju Island?) → 네, 작년 여름에 가 봤어요. I’ll come early next time.) • 저는 아직 일을 다 못 했어요. → 밥은 나중에 먹을게요. (I haven’t finished work yet. I’ll eat later.) • 누가 바닥을 쓸 거예요? → 제가 바닥을 쓸게요. Noun + (이)라고 하다 (To be called/Named) This structure is used to introduce names. • 이것을 한국말로 뭐라고 해요? → 한국말로 프린터라고 해요. (What is this called in Korean? → It's called 'printer' in Korean.) • 이 동물을 한국말로 뭐라고 해요? → 원숭이라고 해요. (What is this animal called in Korean? → It's called 'monkey.') • 한국의 전통 옷을 한복이라고 해요. (The traditional Korean clothing is called hanbok.) • 베트남의 유명한 쌀국수는 '포'라고 합니다. (Vietnam’s famous pho is called 'Pho'.) 🎙️ Try practicing by saying the name of your hometown in Korean! 2. Adjective + ㄴ/은 (Describing Nouns) This structure is used to modify nouns with adjectives. • 싸고 예쁜 옷이 많아요. (There are many cheap and pretty clothes.) • 넓은 집에서 살고 싶어요. (I want to live in a spacious house.) • 서울은 큰 도시예요. (Seoul is a big city.) • 시장에는 싸고 맛있는 음식이 많아요.
