    There’s a certain weight that comes with trying to process life while everything around you keeps moving. This episode was recorded during a period where change, uncertainty, pressure, growth, and reflection all seemed to arrive at the same time. In many ways, it mirrors the current state of everyday South African life, people navigating rising costs, shifting routines, emotional fatigue, ambition, survival, and the constant need to adapt. Everyone appears to be carrying something, often quietly. “A Lot At Once” is not necessarily about having the answers, but about finding moments to breathe through the noise. Through deep, sequenced and uncompromised selections, this mix leans into feeling rather than escape, allowing space to think, reflect, drive, sit with friends, or simply exist for a moment without pressure. The journey moves through tension, warmth, groove and release, much like life itself during uncertain times.     After some time away from releasing, this episode felt right to return with. Recorded in one sitting, then revisited with distance — judged as if it belonged to someone else. What remained was respect: for the selection, the patience, and the intention behind it. Inspired by years of listening, learning, and unlearning, this mix is a quiet nod to influences that shaped my ear from as far back as 2011 although i've been collecting and listening for years before 2011. That year had a lot of influence — particularly the sound and selections of Uni Dgeoff. Not to replicate, but to acknowledge a lineage, while allowing space to arrive at my own voice.Although those early references no longer sound the same today, the spirit remains: patience, depth, groove, and intention. This episode became a reminder of why I still buy records, why I still enjoy the process, and why 2026 feels like the right time to gently evolve the In Sequence sound.There’s movement here — kick, bass, and groove — but always with a journey in mind. Music for friends, strangers, and shared moments: a month-end Saturday, a car wash gathering, a house party that slowly opens into something deeper. Fun without being careless. Dance without losing thought.This is not a departure, but an expansion. A continuation in sequence journey — forward, not away.

    Before In Sequence… before the episodes… there was this. Back in 2012, I was chasing visions that felt bigger than me. I remember putting together a 36-minute demo, meant for Skindeep at BBB Music. I was laser focused with my mixing and timing…probably rehearsed twice before finally recording it. May 9, 2013 — I uploaded it to SoundCloud, not knowing who would ever listen. It was more than just a demo — it was me sending out a signal, saying: ‘This is what I sound like. This is where I’m headed.’ Today (16 August 2025) I Just logged in on my account more than 15 years later and I've just found it there (there's 2 of them, both were private and not visible to public, may probably upload the 2nd one too). Looking back now, it feels like a message in a bottle. A piece of the journey that shaped what would later become In Sequence, because i got radio silence from him and that birthed In Sequence Series.. where i felt i would just tell my stories from with music.     In Sequence Series - Special Edition004 - Shane Moyce AKA Soulscentric

    Shane started collecting music in primary school. Both parents were musicians so music was constantly playing at home. Record collecting started in 1985, R&B, Smooth Jazz, Disco & 12 inch Singles. In 1991 he landed a residency at a Night club in Downtown Jozi called Harlem Shuffle. The first taste of a big crowd moving to his every beat. Life took a different turn in the following years with Shane venturing into a trade as a mechanic. Work took on the main focus & being a Dj took a back seat. In early 2000’s the music bug bit in a Deep way, the 12 inch vinyl collecting resumed & in no time Shane was back in it. Purely through his unique taste in music he developed relationships with Dj’s at the record stores he frequented. These relationships lead to bookings for gigs around Jozi from Soweto, Kagiso, Voslorus, Mamelodi & Tembisa. A pub called Hippo’s Place in Tembisa proved to be the top venue he enjoyed playing at, Friday, Saturday & Monday nights. Shane then became a regular on lineups at a weekly event called Delectable Sundaes at Shikisha in Newton Jozi. He found himself playing alongside brilliant local & international Dj’s...the likes of Harrel Salcoh boss of then Soul Candi, Clive Bean, Dj Ady, Lino, Dj Claude, Dj Duzy, Dj Fingers, Kid Fonque, Vinny Davinci, Dacapo, Oscar P & Charles Webster to name a few. In the past 10 years Shane has assumed the role as mentor to a number of young up & coming Dj’s & producers alike. Guiding & sharing his vast experience & knowledge of the dance music scene. In 2009 Shane met up with a band Meat The Veggies from Kagiso which seen life long relationships formed with Tiko. Bongani & Sol Stringer. This collaboration gave birth to his Stage name “ Soulcentric”. Collaborations which followed brought Deep house & Afro Kitchen Jazz together to create something special & unique which captured the attention of many music lovers. To this day their collaborative sets remain in demand. Look out for upcoming live colabs with Sol Stringer & Tiko. Shane has also become a regular feature on Bestbeatstv platform. Check out his most recent live mix on Bestbeatstv page on Facebook. In 2018 Shane was offered a weekly show on a Canadian online radio station Deep Roast Radio, which he called Deeper Horizons. 2 hour mixes were the standard this seen him attain international recognition for his unique track selection, sequencing & mixing. He now provides mixes for numerous podcasts around the globe.

    There’s something deeply special about vinyl records — the warmth, the crackle, the tactile connection to music that digital just can’t replicate. But I have to say: I really hate written records. What do I mean by that? Well, a record is more than just a physical object — it’s a piece of art, a collector’s treasure, a carrier of sound and story. So why do some people write or mark their names on records? And then, worse, sell them second-hand with those markings still there? Imagine buying a second-hand record, excited to spin it and make it your own… only to find someone else’s name scrawled all over the sleeve or the label. Suddenly, that record belongs to someone else — or at least it feels like it does. It’s like inheriting someone else’s memories or history without the choice to erase or rewrite it. This is why I truly respect DJs that keep themclean, “In Sequence010 – I Hate Written Records” more like a tribute to the purity of vinyl culture. On this set I'm celebrating raw, unfiltered house music — filled with warmth, texture, and that beautiful imperfection that comes from spinning real vinyl. Enjoy
