    The Sacrament of Baptism–A Wholistic Biblical Understanding

    God makes promises to his people, and he keeps them. We reflect on the beauty of baptism and the covenant faithfulness of our God. As His people and their children are formally initiated into the church through this sacrament, they acknowledge the promises of a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. “And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.” (Genesis 17:7)

    "Grace upon Grace" | John 1:16

    John 1:16: “From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” We reflect on the truth that the grace that Jesus shows his people is matched only by the magnitude of his glory. And because the glory of Christ is inexhaustible, so is his grace toward us. John reminds us that we are receiving grace that flows continually from the fullness of Christ himself, fresh grace for today, and grace still to come. This is a steady and hopeful word: whatever this year brings, Christ’s grace will not run out.

    Is Christmas Unbelievable?  by Rebecca McLaughlin was written especially for people who are curious about faith—or for those who care about someone who is. On Christmas Eve, we made copies available for those who are exploring and for others who may want to share one with someone in their life who has questions. Tomorrow, our worship will continue to celebrate Christmas as we sing familiar carols together.
