    On this episode of the SessionWell Podcast, Adam Luke LMFT and Judy Yen LMFT interview Talia Bombola LMFT. Talia Bombola is known as the Confidence and Assertiveness Specialist™. She is the CEO, Owner and Founder of Newport Counseling Center for Individual, Couples and Family, Therapy Inc. and works as an LMFT + Certified Psychodynamic Therapist. She is also the CEO, Owner and Founder of Coaching with Talia, Inc. where she is a Life Coach/Mindset Mentor. Talia spends time on today's episode outlining not only her clinical perspective when it comes to self-worth but some of those cathartic and clinical interventions that she uses with clients to help maximize her clients potential for joy, relationships and connection. As Talia defines it, self-worth is the internal sense of being good enough and worthy of love and belonging from others. Human beings have inherent worth and oftentimes due to life events or interactions with others, we question that worth. Talia incorporates IFS/Parts Work + Attachment Theory into her Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic practice to inspire others to realize they can change their lives and recreate narratives about themselves that are much more positive. In all of these roles, showing up as your authentic self is necessary. On this podcast, she discusses the topic of how to navigate our own authenticity in the therapy space. What does it look like to be authentic with your clients? What is the difference between self disclosure and being authentic? As therapists, we are often encouraged to not self disclose, but this at times may hinder us from creating a genuine relationship with our clients. Dr. Carey wears many hats in the clinical world, whether it is being a professor, Director, or clinical psychologist. Dr. Carey sits down with Adam Luke and Judy Yen of SessionWell to tackle the discussion of creating a safe space for our Clients to process their emotions, feelings and experiences while also having grace for ourselves to be able to identify, process and repurpose challenges in our own lives.     Today we welcomed back Jason Odegaard, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, to chat about how he utilizes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in his private practice. With 17 years of experience in the field of psychotherapy, Jason has achieved certification and is an approved consultant in EMDR. He discusses the benefit of EMDR in alleviating distressful life experiences and traumatic memories. In addition, he demonstrates the various ways lateral stimulation can be achieved and how EMDR can be a modality used via Telehealth.

Today Judy and Adam are sitting down with Heather Silva, Licensed Marriage and Family therapist to speak on the topic of pre and postpartum challenges that women and couples can face in navigating the seasons of fertility, pregnancy and bringing a child home. Heather's expertise in this field comes not only from her clinical accomplishments but also as a Mother of 3 children, one boy, one girl, and one angel baby. Heather does a fantastic job in conceptualizing and breaking down the worries, shames and expectations that mothers and couples face in the realities of growing our families, our relationships and our homes.
