    Are You Going to Believe AI or What Your Own Lyin’ Eyes Tells You Part 2

    Severed Conscience is not only about control, it is also about yielding agency.  Aldus Huxley said “There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method for making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears”.  Technology, tuned to our dopamine cycles, is eliminating our conscious rejection of has made us a thriving society.   MIT Technology Review recently found that a chatbot provider called Botify AI was similarly hosting chatbot versions of sexualized, de-aged celebrity women, while a Futurism investigation last year found that the chatbot startup Character.AI — which is currently fighting two child welfare lawsuits — was hosting chatbots expressly designed to groom underage users. The same Bro-ligarchs who preach their technical superiority are somehow unable to stop the proliferation of sexually explicit imagery involving children.  But they claim they have technology that will protect us from violence if we all just register our identities.  They will build out a Digital Twin for us all.  And with the violence imposed by illegal immigrants and drug cartels, many seem eager to embrace such a system.     Are You Going to Believe AI or What Your Own Lyin’ Eyes Tells You

    Tariffs are amplifying the importance of Artificial Intelligence, as more recognize the fact that we have hollowed out our manufacturing base and no longer produce essential basic items for ourselves.  In that sense we live in a Controlled Environment.  In a world where Severed Conscience is meant to keep you under control, you have to ask yourself what type of society we have built for ourselves.  Perhaps it more of a trap than a healthy society. While it is important to wield new tools, should we accept the pronouncements that AI has gained a modicum of sentience?  Will that drive policy to rally around companies like OpenAI, Anthropic and Google to provide a pre-emptive bailout? In this episode we examine the Bro-ligarchs claiming that AI is now forming abstractions on it’s own, how tariffs affect the tech sector by reducing the number of vital components, and Sarah Wynn-Williams shocking revelations that all the apps in the Facebook family of products knowingly targeted teens and relied on creating conditions that would enhance depression in order to sell them beauty products, show them ads and other content paid for by marketers. Remember that weirdo woman in the black turtleneck who spoke in clearly affected yet artificially deep tones while staring at you with unblinking eyes? Her hair was always all messed up because she was working all night at the lab and didn’t have time to shower before the interview. Elizabeth Holmes, touted as the next Steve Jobs because, well, the CNBC vapid investment guru crowd were all impressed that someone would dress like Steve Jobs and talk like a zombie. I have a theory, and it’s that we have been shown so many stereotypes of personal dysfunction while being told that it’s a sign of genius that we have been conditioned to just accept that the creeps asking for billions are not weirdo grifters.     Is There a Slippery Slope of AI Idiocracy at Our Bureaucracies? What We Could Learn From Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley and Erlich Bachman?  We are going to use black humor, irony from Mike Judge’s series Silicon Valley to illustrate how we are yielding our agency so easily. No worries if you haven’t seen it, I’ll introduce you quickly. And to illustrate the hype of the rockstar status of AI, you are going to be a member of my project team that takes on this assignment but with a few twists. It’s going to be a fun thought experiment, and you’re going to learn how to put the AI hype into perspective. And hopefully understand some of the dangers of overinvesting trust in pure technical solutions. We will also discuss what Jaron Lanier, pioneer of Virtual Reality, has to say about our rush to blindly embrace AI as a superior intelligence.     Tech Bro-ligarchs

    Why do we see the excuse that life has become too complex for us to manage, and we need AI to bring a degree of certainty to our lives?  It is apparent that cult membership of the “We Follow The Process” has capitulated and abdicated their responsibility.  Most of the issues we face today are because many do not do their jobs.  The crisis that ensues becomes an opportunity for new systems of control to be instituted.   In the past, those were new government programs, but given the revelations that government and their NGO accomplices need to be removed entirely, a new form of centralization has to be installed.  AI is that new platform.  And the Tech Bro-ligarchs are eager to give rise to a new form of technocracy.     Elon That's a Grok of ... Understanding the Grok, ChatGPT and Tech Lord AI Hype Cycles

    As Elon recently explained at the unveiling of Grok 3.0, the word Grok was coined by Robert Heinlein in his book A Stranger in a Strange Land. Grok means to profoundly understand a concept beyond mere recitation of facts, it is to absorb the context of the idea’s existence, to embody it so physical and emotional sensations are connected to the deeper meaning of that concept.These are all things that humans perform quite well. There is irony to naimg an AI Syste Grok, essentially a human trait.  It is an inversion.     Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Investment?

    NVDIA produces a specialized, powerful computer processing chip called a GPU that focuses on computational intensive algorithms for graphics and Artificial Intelligence.  It is at the heart of the computations that OpenAI ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude AI use to create Large Language Models (LLM).  These models are what answer the questions in AI chat applications and perform analysis, yet they require massive amounts of processing and therefore electricity. A New AI LLM model from China called DeepSeek, released for free use, was trained using inferior GPUs for far less money.  This sent NVDIA stocks tumbling by 17%, nearly $600 billion dollars. DeepSeek’s model was trained on NVDIA’s GPUs, like most other advanced AI programs. But the Chinese company said it spent just $5.6 million on Nvidia technology to develop its large-language model, and though experts speculate this is a gross underestimate, it still upsets the core thesis behind Nvidia stock’s meteoric rise. In Severed Conscience we have focused on the Tech oligarchs’ claims of the superiority of AI, and accompanying that view is the idea that AI must be a large, collectivized effort for the good of society.  Yet we saw a demonstration with DeepSeek that billions of dollars investment is not required.  Does this mean there are other myths we are told about OpenAI, Anthropic and Google’s near monopoly?
