Severed Conscience OZ Fest

In this first episode of Severed Conscience - Definitions, we introduce our theory that something has broken us, something has taken ahold of our minds. We call this state where we are unable to exercise moral judgement Severed Conscience. This state of mind is the by product of social media and psychological manipulation.

Since COVID we see a new behavior, it has affected how we form connections to one another and forge relationships. We sidelined our ancestors who fought for the sanctity of life and liberty, who gave us this gift of freedom and prosperity, over the hypothesis “15 days to slow the spread”. While they repeated that phrase to us, what kept us neutral? Paranoia? Fear? Just going with the flow? Go stand in a crowd and watch people shuffle by. What are they wearing, what are they carrying?

People’s cognition has been stunted, damaged to the point where they walk, they speak, but they cannot reflect on their individual responses normally rooted in self awareness. They cannot exercise their conscience.

In the previous episode we defined Severed Conscience as the breakdown of an individual’s awareness of the environment and the deterioration of their ability to make rational judgments. This breakdown is hastened by social media and excessive technology use. Kelly Trowhill relayed the symptoms she saw in her clients, including a rise in misidentifying the subconscious emotional drives with higher thought. Kelly described the techniques used to assess the emotional state of her patients to help them identify what is behind their increased anxiety. Being kept in a constant state of fight or flight, they are kept in a state of highly distracted, disordered thinking. This leads to heightened anxiety, depression and in some cases, contemplation of suicide

Kelly described how the subconscious forms core emotions and responses, and how interference in this process can implant behaviors and instincts detrimental to healthy function of cognition.

In the previous episode Kelly, O and Zee discussed the Asch Conformity study. Are humans susceptible to manipulation and conform to group dynamics naturally? The Asch Conformity study illustrates tendencies that humans possess that operate on a subconscious level. These facets can be used to influence our behavior. When these techniques are applied subtly we are kept in a hyper sensitive state, and the evidence is the rising levels of anxiety and dysfunction in children and teens. When we are bombarded on all fronts, we are overwhelmed and turn to soothing techniques that can further reinforce Severed Conscience.

In this episode, we examine what is offered as a solution for this anxiety, and this is a false remedy. Is this used against us, and does that lead to loss of freedom? The implications are profound, and when our society is examined, we see indications that a collective hive mind is currently instituted, and social media acts as the monitor and reminder. Self censorship results, even in “freedom minded” circles.

While Severed Conscience, the state of impaired cognition imposed by technology, is a new phenomenon, human history is sadly full of examples of mass manipulation. In this portion of our series we turn to history to compare and contrast the various societies that employed psychological as well as physical methods for top down control of populations. This will illustrate that while as humans we share the same weaknesses of those who have gone before, we will also see how more easily we are influenced. History’s dark examples of violence achieved less at a greater cost than we can be subjected to today. The Salem Witch Trials, India’s Caste System and Soviet Russia are our focal points.

In the previous episode of Severed Conscience - History of Manipulation Kelly, O and Zee discussed the circumstances behind the mass manipulation in Massachusetts during the Salem Witch Trials. We learned that two competing families, the Putnams and the Porters, sought to control the region. Seeking more autonomy, the Putnams wanted to form a new church and control tax collection. They used the Witch Trials as a means to achieve that end against the Porters. Hysteria and fear were critical factors that were wielded effectively resulting in the execution of 19 people.

In this episode you are about to hear, we discuss the British East India Company and what they learned from the Caste system in India and how this shaped techniques of mass manipulation via education and slavery back in the West.
