what’s the opposite of gaslighting?
i’m obsessed with this show. i’m biased of course. i grew up (and stayed in) in toxic christian spaces where boundaries aren’t respected and consent doesn’t exist. because of the unrestrained power hierarchy when you are in church, your experiences are dictated to you by people with power. when you have questions, you’re shut down with moving goal posts. “you must be sinning” “you need to pray more” “god calls us [you] to submit to authority”
having your experiences validated feels so refreshing. and probably makes abusers afraid so 💁🏽♀️
I get these women
This podcast frees listeners from the bondage church people can heap on fellow. church people. It’s a scary feeling when you feel no one gets you.
