Janae Sharp sits down with Chase T.M. Anderson MD, MS to talk about his dreams and his work as a pediatric psychiatrist. She asks how he uses his experience with mental health to create a safe space for people and adolescents to thrive. Chase T.M. Anderson is currently a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow at the University of California at San Francisco and recently graduated from adult psychiatry residency at The Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. He completed his undergraduate education in Chemistry at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his master’s in Biological Engineering at MIT as well and is a graduate of The Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. Trauma Informed Evaluation - Justin Bullock, MD

Justin Bullock, MD wrote his story "Suicide - Rewriting My Story" about mental health and a suicide attempt while he was in the hospital. He is a runner, a physician, and an advocate for bipolar disorder and mental health for physicians. Justin won the Sharp Index advocacy award for 2020 and has been sharing his story. The reminder is that, just because I talk about something, does not mean it is easy for me to talk about. I sat down with Justin to discuss advocacy and mental health. Most hospital systems or medical schools, while they teach about mental illness and mental health, would prefer not to have any doctors who are sick. They would prefer not to see those problems in real life. Dr. Bullock has shared ways to improve trauma-informed evaluation and licensure of Physicians.
