    The mental load is real

    Today I’m talking about the mental load of motherhood, business, and trying to keep everything together. I share a very real moment where I completely dropped the ball and missed something important for my daughter—and the guilt, frustration, and mom-shame that came with it. Because sometimes we’re carrying so much in our heads that even the things we thought we handled somehow fall through the cracks. No perfect mom here. Just a real conversation about feeling overwhelmed, giving yourself grace, and trying your best when life feels like a million tabs are open at once. ❤️

    So… Shaye What? | Welcome to My Mess

    Welcome to the very first episode of Shaye What! So… I actually did it. I started a podcast. In this first episode, I’m letting you into my world and giving you a little introduction to the woman behind the name. I’m Shaye—a hairstylist, business owner, wife, and mom of two—and my life is basically a constant mix of beautiful moments, complete chaos, big dreams, hard lessons, and a whole lot of “what am I doing?” moments. Shaye What is my diary, but instead of keeping it locked away, I’m inviting you in. We’re talking about motherhood, marriage, friendships, owning a business, salon life, personal growth, and the parts of life that don’t always make it onto social media. I’ll be sharing the highs, the lows, the things I’m proud of, the things I’m still figuring out, and probably a little tea along the way. I’m also opening up about motherhood and what it’s like raising two very different little people. My daughter has special needs, and being her mom has taught me things about patience, strength, advocacy, and unconditional love that I never could have imagined. At the same time, I’m constantly thinking about my son and making sure he gets to simply be a kid and never feels like he has to take a backseat to everything his sister needs. Then there’s the business side of my life being a hairstylist, building my own businesses, chasing goals, trying to create financial stability, and figuring out how to balance being ambitious with being present for my family. And honestly? I don’t have it all figured out. Some days I feel like I’m absolutely crushing it. Other days I’m overwhelmed, exhausted, questioning everything, and wondering how everyone else seems to have it together. I’m learning that both versions of me can exist at the same time. This podcast is going to be a place where we can talk about the real stuff—the things we think about at 2 a.m., the conversations we have with our best friends, the situations that make us say “you’ve got to be kidding me,” and the moments that completely change the way we see ourselves. So whether you’re here because you know me, you’re a fellow hairstylist or business owner, you’re a mom trying to balance it all, or you just enjoy listening to someone talk about life with absolutely no filter… welcome. Grab your coffee, get comfortable, and come hang out with me. This is the beginning of Shaye What. And honestly… Shaye what?!
