The Gift Mom Didn’t Know She Left

In January 2019, Mom sat down with me for what was simply supposed to be an interview for my podcast. None of us knew that years later, this recording would become something much more. This week marks three years since we lost Mom, and today her voice feels like a gift she never knew she was leaving behind. It's a gift for me, for my brothers and sisters, for her grandchildren, and for everyone in our family who loved her and misses her. We get to hear her again. We get to hear her tell stories about her childhood and family. We get to hear her sense of humor, her opinions, the memories she could still reach, and even the little everyday exchanges that didn't seem important at the time—but mean so much now. And we get to hear Mom tell us, in her own words, how she hoped she would be remembered. The original interview was recorded while Mom was living with dementia. I've gently edited it for this tribute, not to erase that part of her story, but because today my reason for sharing it is different. Today, I simply want us to have some time with Mom again. The episode ends with “I Still Talk to You,” a song I wrote for her after she was gone. Maybe this episode will also be a reminder to record the people you love. Their stories. Their laughter. Their voices. Even the completely ordinary conversations. Because sometimes we don't realize we're preserving a memory while we're making it. To my brothers and sisters, to Mom's grandchildren, and to everyone who loved her—this one's for all of us. ❤️ In loving memory of Georjean. Got something to share? You Can’t Change Your Past. But You Can Change Your Future.

We all have things in our past we wish we could change. The choices we made, the people we hurt, the opportunities we lost. But what happens when you finally stop running from those mistakes and start learning from them? In this episode, Randy gets very honest about his life—from being drafted into professional baseball at 17 to the choices that took his life in a very different direction. He opens up about alcohol, putting friends and drinking ahead of his family, the regrets he carries, and what it took to finally change. Today, Randy is 10 years sober, rebuilding relationships, facing new challenges, and learning that getting older doesn’t mean your story is finished. This isn't a story about having a perfect past. It's about owning your mistakes, learning from them, and realizing something important: You can’t change what happened yesterday—but you still get a say in what happens next. Because it’s never too late for a second chance. ❤️ Got something to share? What Really Matters in Life Took Us 60 Years to Learn

What really matters in life? It's a question that took us more than 60 years to answer. After more than 60 years of living, we've realized something surprising: the things we spent years worrying about weren't the things that mattered most. In this episode, we talk about confidence, family, success, caring for our mom, finding joy in the little things, and the lessons we wish we'd learned decades earlier. It's an honest conversation between two siblings reflecting on what life has taught us—and what we'd tell our younger selves if we had the chance. Got something to share? I Told the Truth... No One Believed Me

For years, I hid my voice because I believed it didn't matter. As a child, I learned to stay silent. It took years to find my voice again, and the journey wasn't always easy. In this episode, I share how early trauma shaped my life, the people who helped me heal, and why I end every episode by saying, "Always remember to embrace your voice." If you've ever felt unheard, struggled to speak your truth, or wondered if your story mattered, this conversation is for you. Thank you for listening... and as always, remember to embrace your voice. I Never Had Children... Here's What Life Looks Like

When people find out I never had children, the questions usually follow. "Do you regret it?" "Did you always plan it that way?" "Who's going to take care of you when you're older?" In this episode, Sheri opens up about a deeply personal part of her life and shares what it's really been like growing older without children. This isn't a conversation about whether one life path is better than another. It's about accepting that life doesn't always unfold the way we imagined when we were young—and discovering that a meaningful, joyful life can still be built from the unexpected. Sheri reflects on the dreams she once had, the "what if" moments she's experienced, the family she treasures today, and the purpose she's found through caregiving, creativity, and building a community with all of you. Whether you're a parent, never had children, became a caregiver, or simply find yourself living a life you never expected, this heartfelt conversation is a reminder that our stories don't have to follow the same path to have value. In this episode: Why life doesn't always go according to planThe questions people ask about never having childrenWondering about the road not takenFinding purpose beyond traditional expectationsWhy it's never too late to build a meaningful lifeIf this episode speaks to you, we'd love to hear your story. Could scientists be getting closer to slowing Alzheimer's disease?

What if the future of Alzheimer's isn't one miracle cure... but a series of small breakthroughs that change everything? After helping care for my mom through nearly 10 years of Alzheimer's, I pay close attention whenever new research offers hope. In this solo episode, I'm sharing two recent studies that really caught my attention. The first explores a new discovery that may help explain how Alzheimer's spreads through the brain—and how scientists may one day be able to slow that process. The second highlights research suggesting that nearly half of dementia cases could potentially be prevented or delayed through healthy lifestyle choices. This isn't about false hope or miracle cures. It's about progress. It's about possibility. And it's about remembering that researchers around the world are working every day to change the future for millions of families. If Alzheimer's or dementia has touched your life, I hope this conversation leaves you feeling just a little more hopeful.
