    The Very Good Day

    Something happens at Shiloh Creek that has never happened before: a human comes to visit — a curious, kind, clever boy named Jigstar, who follows the water right into the middle of the morning. The animals are amazed ("Where's your TAIL? Can you do a BACKFLIP? Can you SLIDE?"), but then Jigstar turns the question around and asks THEM: do you ever wish you were something else? One by one the friends admit a secret wish — fast Zippy wishes she could be still, slow Shelly wishes she were quick, and loud Garingo wishes he were as brave on the inside as he sounds on the outside — until it starts to seem like nobody is glad to be themselves.     The Brave Small Thing

    The Mudpuppies — Splish, Splash, and Splosh — have never led an adventure before.
