    Shiny Things 12: This May Feel Uncomfortable

    This week we brought Bei back to talk with us about the world of diet culture; what that may look like and definitions and stereotypes we may have come across in our lives. We talk about the idea of body positivity; who that impacts and the benefits and challenges that rhetoric brings to specific communities. Bei also brings with her personal anecdotes and experience as well as material she has learned from resources such as the National Eating Disorder Association (referred to as NEDA). We discuss the reality of burnout with an example from their working experience and what that might look like on a larger scale.     Shiny Things 10: Holy Sh*t, Everybody Knows Each Other!

    In the latest interview, our newest guest invites us into their story of moving cross country and how factors such as the pandemic and "high school identities" (i.e sports) impacted that transition. We also discuss the importance of learning and knowing safety plans for your pets, especially small animals, as well as some helpful hints when indulging in 21+ substances. We also have an honest conversation about bias and privilege while discussing the housing crisis and those that are impacted. As always we end with snippets of shiny songs and food.
