For almost a hundred years the Masonic Service Association of North America has published the Short Talk Bulletins every month, discussing various symbols, lore, and Masonic historical figures and events, being the de facto "public face" of Masonry in North America. If Masonry in North America was a church, these would be the sermons. These have historically been sent out, printed and mailed. By subscribing to the Short Talk Bulletin Podcast, every month you will receive the current Short Talk Bulletin as a spoken audio file, and in addition will receive the growing collection of historical Short Talk Bulletins as they are produced. The vision of Anaba Publishing is to record all of the historical Short Talk Bulletins being spoken/delivered by various Masons around the country, preserve this ongoing legacy to speak to the world about the value of Masonry, and in so doing provide real and tangible support to further the goals of the MSANA: disaster relief, educational publications and masonic information. Membership in the Short Talk Bulletin Online Audio Library equals direct support for the MSANA. All content used with permission of the MSANA. The Why Of Initiation V18N4

    The Why Of Initiation V18N4

Brethren, this Short Talk Bulletin Podcast episode was written by MW Bro Carl H. Claudy and first published in April 1940. I had the distict honor of participating in the initiation of a new brother recently. There are deep psychological and scientific reasons for initiatory forms and ceremonies, and much more than traditions and ancient customs as reasons for our degrees being what they are and not something else. Enjoy, and do share this and all of these Podcast episodes with your brothers, your Lodge, and especially the newest EAs, waiting expectantly in the Northeast corner.

Brethren, this Short Talk Bulletin Podcast episode was written by RW Bro E. Gene Ross, DGM – IL, and is brought to us by WBro John Rock, PM – Solar Star #14, Bath ME. Before we determine what kind of educational programs we intend to develop, first we must determine which groups we are trying to reach. There are those who have come to us as young men, and there are those, regardless of age, who are still considered youths in Masonry. So Mote It Be V5N6

    So Mote It Be V5N6

Brethren, this Short Talk Bulletin Podcast episode was written by Rev Dr Bro Joseph Fort Newton and first published in June 1927. How familiar the phrase is. No Lodge is ever opened or closed, in due form, without it. Yet how few know how old it is, much less what a deep meaning it has. Like so many old and lovely things, it is so near to us that we don’t see it. As far as we go back in the history of our Craft we find this phrase. Here we find an excellent discussion of this phrase, and why it means what it does. Enjoy, and do share this and all of these Podcast episodes with your brothers and your Lodge.

You never hear of Freemasonry and Islam or the Near East. Great research topics and points. Whithersoever dispersed around the globe, Masons are making a difference in their communities! I am feeling more curiosity to learn more about global Freemasonry. Thank you for this topic and keep it up! I am loving it.
