It's June 6, 1998. The number one movie in the United States is 'The Truman Show.' NBC ruled television, with 'Friends,' 'E.R.', and 'Seinfeld' dominating the ratings. Brandy and Monica were on top of the music charts, and, oh, and 'Sex and the City' aired its first episode.
Welcome to 'Shortcomings,' a new 'Sex and the City' podcast from Sam Bush (aka @bravohistorian) and Chris Lewis. They're going all-in on our problematic fave — the memories, the men, the fashion, and, of course, Aidan's obsession with KFC. Sam and Chris will recap all 92 episodes of the series, two movies, and whatever the revival is. So grab a cosmo and join Sam and Chris in taking a critical eye to a show that changed television.

The Cold War
And just like that, we're back after a brief Thanksgiving hiatus to discuss one of the last episodes of the original run of SATC. Samantha is worried about her sexual reputation, Charlotte enters a dog show, Miranda is still adjusting to life in Brooklyn, and Carrie ponders how to make things last in a relationship. It's a lot, take a listen!

Out of the Frying Pan
We're closing in on the final set of episodes of season six and it mostly feels like a lot of table setting--Carrie and Aleks are having trouble communicating, Samantha confronts the reality of cancer, Miranda moves to Brooklyn, and Charlotte expands her family. It's a sweet episode that's sort of all over the place. It's a lot. Take a listen!

Catch-38
And Just Like That, we're back at a crosswords with Carrie as she ponders whether she wants children...but is it the show that can't make up it's mind? We also break down what's going on with Miranda in terms of partnership and whether it's impossible for Carrie to support Samantha. And Charlotte gives us comedy. It's a lot. Take a listen!

The Ick Factor
And just like that, we've made it to Miranda and Steve's wedding and it feels right and wrong. We also discuss how the big things in this episode feel small - is this really when we discover that Samantha has cancer? It's a strange episode of Sex and the City, but a delightful Shortcomings recap.

Let There Be Light
We couldn't help but wonder...hasn't Carrie already taken many "lovers"? That question is on our mind amongst many others as we take on this episode of SATC. Why is Samantha getting less screen time? Where is Harry? And honestly, why aren't Miranda and Steve moving out of this apartment of horrors? All of that and we blind rank some SATC boyfriends. Take a listen.

One
He's here and he's perfect! We couldn't be more excited that Aleksander Petrovsky has finally joined us and we're feeling mild-whiplash as we deal with Steve and Miranda getting back together, Samantha's bush, and the fast pace story of Charlotte's loss. It's a lot. Take a listen.

Shortie!
I would listen to any content these two put out. I don’t know what it is… but it’s the highlight of my commute. My one and only Patreon subscription!
Constructive criticism
Sam I love you so much, but please adjust your mic or something? The breathing sounds are so heavy and loud and so distracting. It’s constant and big sighs and breaths. But please know I love love love you guys and love the content, I’m a dedicated fan but just hoping this helps!
Getting really tired of the negativity.
I usually enjoy this podcast, but lately it has been so negative. Chris is really ruining it. It’s obvious that the sixth season is nowhere near the same quality as the first four. And you know what? So what? Enjoy it for what it is. Myself, along with others still enjoy it. If it’s not your cup of tea, then fine. Don’t ruin it for everyone else. I was deciding wether or not to keep my Patreon subscription and now thank to these past few episodes my decision is clear. Please do better. There is enough negativity out there. Don’t bring it into something we all love and enjoy.
