Sift doesn’t care about social media, they care about making amazing radio that keeps you fascinated.
I don’t know Bishop Sand, the shows host, but he seems to have the sweetest demeanor, expressing more curiosity than ego, like that of a radio Netherlands host. So, that’s super intimate. Also, I just found out he works with Radiolab, and teaches, so that’s something.
The audio? What you'd expect, smart-pants sound design that plays to the ideas being discussed, like you’re experiencing the experiment. They’ve worked with top dog producers like The Truth’s Jonathan Mitchell to tell stories of lost DNA decoders, an brought on some lily scientists.
But they only have a few reviews, which is crazy, and few followers on twitter. Crazy thing? No one I know in the radio scene follows Sift on FB, all of that is crazy because they have over a cool 1,000,000 on Soundcloud, and 3K+ followers on FB. Maybe radio makers just haven’t been hipped to it yet….except that sift has been playing all year on Pub Radio Remix ( don’t know what that is? This of a magical portal opening, go now.)
So basically, if you like sound rich radio about fun complex subject matter with great interviews and want to be the first of your friends to say, “I listen to Sift.” Then, dummy, go press subscribe…you’ll be smarter, and happier, in mere minutes.
